On the 4th of July I attended a time trial event at California Speedway put on my the SoCal Alfa Romeo Owners Club as part of the 2002 National Alfa Convention. It was a one day event and we ran the 1.5 mile infield road course. I was a bit dissapointed that we didn't get very much track time... only two 20 minute sessions before the timed laps. I even missed over half of the second practive session when my car suddenly refused to start in the pits (fuel pump fuse).
The video was taken during the first practice of the day, and I was still learning the track (it's very technical!). Overall I was a bit disappointed in my lap times... but then again we usually get 1.5-2 hrs of practice! I will be going back there in September for a full two day event, so I expect to do much better then (and maybe even have a slight advantage on those that didn't attend the July 4th event).
Enjoy... it's a 4.6mb MPG file.
