In between steps?

Detail time!
I was just curious as to what everyone does inbetween steps?

Between wash and clay:
-Clay as you wash
-Dry the car, clay with lube, wash again
-Dry the car, clay with lube, remove with QD or S&W?

Between polishing steps:
-Wipe off with MF
-Wipe off with MF and wash
-Wipe off with MF and follow up with S&W
-Don't bother with wiping, keep on polishing?

Between polish and wax:
-Same as above...

Between Wax:
-Just buff off and keep going
-S+W or a QD (same day)

There isn't really a reason for this, but I was just wanted to see what other people do in-between steps. I have heard of people that wash 3 or 4 times while they do a complete detail to remove any remaining polish or residue. Currently, I clay when the car is still damp using lube and dry it that way with S+W or a QD if the car is getting dry. Between polishing I just wipe off the remaining 'stuff' unless it is really bad then I'll hit it up with S+W. And between waxing, sometimes I'll use S+G and others I'll just throw on another layer after I buff for even coverage. I was also trying to see if there is any differences between the steps I showed. If you do it differently please chime in! Thanks for your info.

There really is no time inbetween for me....I keep going until the job is finished....Only break that I take is to eat and most of the time that's whkle I let the sealant cure....if I don't have to eat then I work in the wheel and rims...

It looks pretty good. I try to streamline my procedure a bit, here it is:

Wash
Pressure Rinse
Clay w/QD 1 section at a time
wipe off QD w/ MF towel
Polish w/Optimum Polish if needed w/ different pads as needed
Wipe with MF
Polish w/ Pro Polish if needed
Wipe with MF
S&G if waxing, OCW if sealing
Apply wax or sealant (Each wax and sealant is applied and removed differently)
S&G if Wax

All of my corrective polishing is done with a Makita, Pro polish is usually used with a PC and a finishing pad. This seems to be the easiest and most eficient way of doing things for me, not a whole lot of downtime and I get everything done.

I agree with you guys, I was just seeing how people do it. The way I do it, I am comfortable with it, it works, and I don't see any issues...

I'm with you all the way. If one person's way of doing something isn't your way of doing that same thing then you won't get the best results you can because you're thinking about one more thing. I used to take a bunch of unneeded steps but it was taking me 3 hours to do a wash and wax (not including setup time), so I sat down and figured out a more eficient way of doing things.

Between wash and clay:

-Dry the car, clay with lube, remove with MF

Between polishing steps:
Use Clearkote Quik shine on the paint after each step with a rotary using a pakshak mf
Sonus ultra fine clay after first step, usually a compound.
That makes sure I've removed 100% of fallout etc.

Between polish and wax:
Same thing

OCW=Optimum Car Wax correct? Tuba, you're laying this down before a sealant? I assume there is no bonding issues with it.

OCW is a sealant in it's own right but it doesn't have the same curing properties as a traditional sealant. It doesn't need to outgas and so you can use it to prepare a surface to seal. You can also use it to spit shine sealants, it helps in lubricating removal and it adds a bit of gloss to the whole thing.
