Imola red ZHP, 325i, Interlagos Blue M3 competition *56K NO WAY!*

EBPcivicsi

GOT PREP?
I have had a run of BMW’s as of late—no complaints. :D

First up is an Imola Red ZHP, beautiful car!! The owner purchased the car off of ebay. The stealership buffed the car and it looked like they used either a very tattered foam pad, or had some type of contaminant in the pad as they buffed. The holograms weren’t that bad, but they were *deep*. Some of them could not be removed, at least I wasn’t comfortable removing them.

HT EC/OP mix @1500 RPM’s

Menzerna FPII via PC and blue SM Arnold finishing pad

Z6 wipe down

3 coats of ZFX enabled Z5 PRO

Z8

Tires wear hyperdressing 1:1

Next up is a black 325i that had the softest paint that I have encountered, even the softest MF would mar the paint upon product removal. Funny though, #80 worked fine on it, even though I can’t usually make it finish down well enough for soft paint. Thoughts?

This car was actually the demo for “detail day that I hosted for a local forum. We had a lot of fun and it was a real laid back event.

This is after M80 via PC @speed5 with a green SM Arnold polishing pad, then Meguiars #21. I used NXT peed detailer to clean up any streaks(it was humid).

And finally, a brand new M3 equiped with the competition package. Wow, just wow, what a car!!! The owner requested that the car stay in plastic, he then brought it straight to me. I washed, spot clayed, used a little poorboy’s pro polish on the leftover adhesive, then sealed with Meguiars #21.

The owner took the pics, he is an awesome photographer. :D

Flipping stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That ZHP makes me weep...I almost pulled the trigger on the same one :(.

Great Great Work.

The attendees at "detail day" must have been mighty impressed by your work :waxing: on that 325i! Really nice work! :bigups The black is dripping wet.

Beautiful beemer's!!! That black is like an ocean of black it's so wet and deep.

Off Topic: Was your old Civic sold to a person who lives in the Trussville (Birmingham), AL area. I see an EBP Si with the same wheels all the time in this area.

Nice photoshop of the girl, has to be or she's only 3' tall. ;)

Excellent, excellent, excellent on all three! :bow

Don't you just love those ZHP/M3 wheels? As if 10 spokes aren't enough, "let's split those 10 spokes by 1/4", just perfect for our horrendous brake dust problems"...at least that is what they must have been thinking. :hairpull:

#80 is my go to polish on softer paints, I guess the quick breakdown time means soft abrasives. :nixweiss Anyway, I'm not suprised at all that it is what worked for you.

I almost posted a question asking: what happend to you? I was waiting for your post. Simply stunning work. :bow :bow :bow

THEY ARE ALL NICE

Yeah, no kidding. It’s no more fun applying wheel sealant either, she's still more then worth it :)

I sure did, his name is Jeremy--heck of a nice guy. FWIU, the car will be in SuperStreet within the next couple of months.

Scott, that's no chop, that's his wife. :D

Typically I find that on soft paint the #80 will micro-mar the finish and will actually leave the paint hazy. :dunno

Thanks everyone!!!

Great Great Work.

:rofl That's actually the M3 Competition Kit, not the ZHP 3 Series Kit. It's sick! Great work.

I have a question...isnt M#80 have alot of fillers. I have been under the impression that after a few washes the fillers will soon be all gone and tada all your swirls are back again. I need some thoughts on this. My e36 m3 cosmos black only lets me take out 80% of the swirls using 3M finesse IT on orange pad finishing around 5 1/2k Rpm's.

Will #80 be more to my liking or disapoint my customers and myself within weeks..

Thanks

(I love the cars..) :getdown

IMO, as long as you know the defects can be removed by #80, there is not an issue. I really don't see that #80 has a lot of fillers. I assume that they are there because of the trade secret oils within the product, but I have not really seen evidence of that. On this particular car, the paint was so soft that even the softest MF would mar the paint upon removal, there was no way I was going to put a high speed polisher on it--one wash and it will be marred up again. Why risk the clear for a weeks worth of swirl free paint? If you are afraid of the fillers in #80, wipe down with glass cleaner after you polish. I don't have any problems with the fillers and have never had anyone call saying their swirls are back. The product delivers for me time and time again.

Interesting...thankyou for your response. May I ask what glass cleaner would do? What would it be picking up? And at what speed, and how many pass's does #80 ussually take.(on an orange pad im assuming?)

Btw, Im just about fed up with 3M.... :sosad
