Immaculate Reflections takes on a hybrid!

When I was placing my order for 3M finness it 2 from carcareonline, the customer service person advised not to purchase the finness it, unless if it is being used on "brand new paint". What was he trying to say? I have always used finness it.



How does Meguiars #9 2.0 compare to 3m finness it 2. Abrasiveness, ase of use, etc?
 
No clue by what the salesperson meant. FI2 does a good job at taking out marring and swirls in new or old paint. I just used #9 2.0 for the first time. Very easy to work with and definitely milder than FI2. I’m not sure how much of it if any are fillers and oils. I washed the car after using it before applying Blackfire just in case. Seems to be a good product to use to remove very minor swirls.

On the bottle of FI2 that i have says not to use it on non cured or fresh paint, it's to abrasive and it may scratch soft paint badly, FI2 can be used on all cured automotive paints.



FI2 is much more abeasive than #9-2.0, and should only be used on swirls that #9 or a 3M-SMR will not remove.
 
I did this one a while back but never got around to posting it. Most Prius owners could care less about the appearance of their car. But this owner did. Wanted it looking good and protected, so he had me come out and do just that! Pretty straightforward on this one. Wash, clay, Zaino. Needed no correction as there were no swirls on it amazingly.

You have been busy for sure, and the Hybrid owner should be happy the way his ride came out. He/she got at least another 3-5 MPG after you got it clean up and slick too!
 
I'd be a slightly more willing to drive that looking as good as you made it; not much though.

Nice work! You made an ugly car look good!
 
If you are going to drive a Prius, it should at least look as good as you made this one look.
