D300 with Surbuf R Series (anyone use these?) Finished with something I picked up when I was a groupie with the 800lb. Gorilla site. Pinnacle.

Looks really good....did you follow the D300 with anything or did it finish down that nice by itself?

I'm sure he did, using D300 with Surbuf pads will leave micro marring.

Since my computer fried a couple of weeks ago and the resulting nightmare that ensued, I just wanted to get back to the board and post something.

Actually, I used Optimum MF cutting w/D300 for most of the car. The roof, however still had some major swirls. So I tried the Surbuf for the first time and they did the trick. I did foam, wash w/sheepskin mitts, clay w/ Nanoskin fine grade, and touch up w/ Menz 87 then wipe down w/Final Inspection and hand apply and buff w/ Pinnacle.

In my short time in business, 7 months, I've done a few details on Porsche's but never any paint correction. I had read that the paint is soft and took to the job as carefully as I could. The owner is actually putting it up for sale and he wanted it done quickly :heh:

Nice job. I'm surprised that you used Pinnacle for your LSP. Not that it's a bad wax, but more a beauty wax that attracts dust.

I was gullible and figured for the price it had to be the cats meow. Go know it attracts dust. I'm just now trying to learn what LSP's to use. I have a few, P21s, 845, Poxy and even Megs Yellow ;)

The exotics are just now coming my way and I don't knwo what to have in my arsenal. For instance, a 2005 Ferrari SuperAmerica - Blue. Any suggestions?

POXY all the way

It keeps detailing simple. Loks excellent on all colors I have ever used it on.

Zymol Glasur is a nice medium priced wax for the exotics.

Interesting that many sites that offer Glasur state that it's meant for Porsche's.

So now what do I do with my jar of Pinnacle?
