I'm back with a 2004 Civic Si detail.

This car belongs to a member here called Kirima (Will). We've been keepin contact for the last few months trying to arrange a time for him to come to my place and learn to use the PC and machine polish. After a few failed attempts, we finally got together today.

The car is Will's 2004 Nighthawk Pearl (did I get it right) EP3. He's never clayed, polished, or waxed it and I would never have guessed by looking at it. He's done a great job of keeping the paint in pretty good shape, especially for being black. We only did any polishing to hood, just to get Will enough time on the PC to get the hang of it. The rest of the car was detailed from the AIO on.

Process:

Clayed with Sonus yellow clay and then 4* clay for a little more bite.

Polished with SSR2 on a white pad. No go.

Polished with SSR2.5 on a white pad. Kind of worked.

Polished with SSR2.5 on an orange pad. That did the trick!

AIO with a white pad.

Natty's with a black pad.

VRT on the tires, WENOL soft polish on the exhaust, IG on the glass.

On to the pics. I believe Will's friend Bill, another Honda guy, has a few more he will post up. Hopefully his are a bit better than mine, as I understand he's a photography buff.

I tried to get a picture to show the difference between the unpolished quarter panel and the polished hood. Hopefully you can tell which is which.

There you go.

Oh, and I snapped a few shots of my car too. I sanded and polished my headlights today while we let the AIO sit on the Honda. They were starting to look a little cloudy to me ;) Also, I just had 35% put all the way around the windows. Other than that, the car stays stock until this summer.

Your SC is looking very good. :)

Thanks Lee. Unfortunately, it's in really bad need of a polish. The poor car has been sitting bare for weeks now becuse I've no time to keep it up. School, girl friend, work, ugh!

You can see my mom's new GX peeking out in the last pic. She finally got rid of her POS Chrysler and got the Lexus to replace it.

nice job, and it's great that you share your knowledge & tools/supplies with others. more people should be considerate like that these days... :2thumbs: :waxing:

I am :)

I might be building a kit by the end of summer .57 trim t3/t5,dragmanifold,tial ws/bov,hondata, exhaust cut out, looking to get 280~hp on stock b16

Glad to see your work again! Really nice job on the Civic, looks swirl free to me! :)

When do we get to see you go all out on the SC?

The0ne- Nope, don't post on DragVA. What is it?

Scott- Unfortunately, only the hood is swirl free. The rest is just the way it came to me, which isn't bad at all for an untouched black car.

I'll go all out on the Super Coupe soon. It's about to roll the big five-oh on the clock, which is gonna make me a little sad. I guess I'll get her cleaned up properly and post pics for that.

Welcome back, we were wondering where you've been! Nice job on the Si's hood. Now that you've shown Will how to polish he'll have the rest of the car mirror smooth. Did you mean your SC is about to roll over 50K? If so that's nothing for a Lexus. It's looking good, do post it when you've done your detail. Tint looks great btw. :buffing:

Ben!

Thanks.

Did you buy a new car?

He looks a bit nervous with the PC in his hands. Nice job on the car..

Neighbors doing the lawn next door while there's polishing going on would make me nervous! :shocked
