I'll just leave this here (39 Studabaker)

EBPcivicsi

GOT PREP?
This ol’ girl had a little bit of everything! The owner *thought* that he had seen the paint, but in reality, he didn’t even know what color it was! He had tried to “compound it out and give it a wax job” and knew that it needed “something.”

That something was about 20 hours of polishing!

Lots of M105/wool

M105 red finishing pad

M205 crimson finishing pad

M21

Wow!! Gorgeous. It needed something all right. That roof was hammered!!

Nice to have those drains in the floor I bet. I take it that it's an older building...

Thanks!

We actually put the drains+grease trap in! It wasn't cheap, but worth IMO. There is a thread here somewhere that documents the building of our shop.

That's what I call a transformation! Nice 50/50 shots on such a gorgeous vehicle. Be sure to post this on the "Best 50/50 pictures" thread.

I'll say it again, I love seeing old cars! Awesome save. The paint was a swirlfest before you massaged it back to life. I bet the owner was stoked.

ebpcivicsi- Howdy, glad to see you're staying busy :D Great job on a really cool car, and I see what you mean about the owner not really knowing what color it really was! Now let's hope it stays that way!

You ever make any progress on *your* car?

Thanks everyone! The owner was *really* happy with the car! I am not sure he really understood the time that we spent with the vehicle, but sometimes you go the extra mile because it's your name/reputation on the line.

Thanks! I did let him know how to take care of it, but I think he is a "it's time for the show let's wiper her down and go" type guy. :(

I did! I actually finished *everything* and now I only drive it once in a blue moon. You know how it is--sometimes you don't want to drive the "good cars" because you know a. what happens to them, typically from other careless people, and b. you think about having to rewash all of the little things that drive you crazy! :D I did buy a 2003 e39 540iT for a beater that has really turned into a "why do I need anything else?" type of car for me. :D
