Focusing on a car in good paint condition (red/black) what would you use if you wanted to do only two steps? I have the following products:

Cleaners/Polishes

AIO

GEPC

#82

MP

Sealers/Waxes

SG

GW

NXT

S100

I voted AIO/S100 in a strictly 2-step sense but as I know I will eventually put more layers on, I would vote AIO/SG with subsequent layers of SG. AIO/SGx1 is not all that, but AIO/SGx3 or more is something truly special.

I agree but, I was wanting to get a sense of what others might do if you were going to detail a friends car once and then let them take over from there. Most folks don't want to spend the time to put on multiple coats.

Currently I am AIO+SGx4 and am about to put on the S100. I think SGx3 is perfect. I did not see a noticeable difference in the 4th layer.

I like the AIO topped with NXT choice for black and red.

If it were a light color I would go with the S100.

GW - glanz wax

I really like ( assuming the paint is in good condition with no swirls ) GEPC and S100. But it will need more maintenance than say an AIO + SG but look much deeper.

It surprises me that AIO is so easy to use, why can't they make SG just as equally simple? Not to start a flame war :D

For me, it has been somewhat simple:

1) Put very little on my MF applicator (I use a little pump spray)

2) Apply in a "#" pattern with your last wipes being in the direction of the wind.

3) Use a MF towels to wipe it off in the direction of the wind (WOWO)

I just did our MDX and used about .5 of an ounce in about an hour.

AIO + NXT-very durable and great looking combinantion.

From my vast array of product though, probably VM + EX-P or Meguiars #20 + #16.

Scott, are these your "go-to" products?

i.e., when your Mavs are down by two points to the Queens with 3 seconds left, are VM and EX-P your Nash and Nowitzky combo?

BTW, what happened to Carnauba Moose? Do you like EX-P better?

Malachi- While I have *my* preferred combos for friends' cars, working with what you listed I voted MP+GW. As far as "what would make the best impression overall on a *non-autopian*?", I don't think any of the other combos would beat it.

You are a 1Z fan...do you also believe that #82 fills in swirls better than PP or MP?
