If Jesus was a compound... Garry Dean - Tampa, FL - Premium Custom Detailing

Garry Dean

Garry Dean Quality!
His name would be M101.

My good friend Charlie Hahn was so gracious to send me a bit of his private stash of Meguiars M101 Foam-Cut Compound. This product was developed in Europe for their paint types and buffing styles. It is NOT available here in the US...

As soon as I put the pad to the paint I could tell I was working with a monster.

This compound not only cuts faster and deeper than M105, but dusts less and finishes better. Believe it or not!

I put together a Meguiars Compound Shootout on the Corvette I just finished (video soon to come) in this video that shows a direct comparison between Meguiars D300, M105v1, M105 current version, and the best thing since sliced bread... M101 aka Pimp Juice.

I am SOOOOOOO spoiled now. I know that there is a better compound out there and I cant buy it on a regular basis... Its just not fair!

Meguiars, if you're listening, please consider bringing this to market here in the US!

Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the awesome vid Garry! That's a nice vehicle to try it on. I'm interested in the M101 myself- I've been checking it out but shipping would be killer from the EU, especially if it's by the gallon.

I think you will find that m101 is over 130 euros across the pond. Not cheap to start with.

Interesting product. I have not heard why Meguiars has chosen not to market it in the US.

Nice video Garry. I asked before but it might have gotten lost in the shuffle of the other 101 thread. IIRC, you've tested the newest version of Uno. How would it compare to the compounds tested here?

I did answer it over there.

"Let me say that Uno isnt even a deciple when compared to M101."

Nice Video Gary!

I'd be all over a group buy... Gary, what did you think about polish staying "wetter" than 105? I dont know, but maybe the reason it's not here is it's not VOC compliant? It does have more of a solvent smell, which would explain why it has a longer work time.

Nope, the label specifically states "Globally VOC Compliant Formula" -- and the stuff is made right here in the USA at the Meguiar's facility in Tennessee. :inspector:

Garry -- excellent review! Glad to see the M101 put to good use; hopefully as reviews like this start pouring in, it will get the attention of the decision makers at Meguiar's.

Quite the video and great test there Garry.

I myself have been trying to source some 101 from Europe (I was just back in Sweden for the last two weeks, but could not find it in any supply shops =( )
I have also contacted the places in the UK I get my 3M Fast cut+ & Extra Fine from and they do not carry it either (only 105 & 205) as it is not for the UK market as well.

This truly is the unicorn of Car polish :D

Nice video Garry... I to am interested in M101 but at the same time wonder how often I would use the king of compounds....

Thanks for the comparison! Do you know how this may compare to Menz. Power Gloss, cut wise. I can already tell it's no where near as dusty.
I know this is a great product and be right up my alley. I hope Megs. listens.
I havent seen much since DRX 25/55 that cut that fast. It's the way M101 finishes down I Really like.
Again thanks for the comparison!

I just had a chance to watch the video, I can't believe it! Meguiar's, please take care of us. So what if the body shops here don't like it, they can keep using M105 or whatever.
