If anyone needs new Halogens...

Thanks, picked one up this evening. Only two left and one was in a box that looked to have been run over.

What is the difference between this one and the one that's $40? They were next to each other and looked pretty much identical. The $40 version is 3" taller.

I picked up a Craftsman halogen set-up several months ago. Really comes in handy now that I am using the rotary.

Awesome deal! I got my Husky 1000watt halogen lights a week ago for $40. Personally, I just love the Husky brand, and if you are curious why, just look at the logo! =P

Seriously though, for those that are not sure if you want one of these types of lights, just trust me and go get one! You will find a million uses for the thing, and will probably find yourself end up getting a small $10 halogen light as well (I know I did!)! For $25, that thing is a steal!

Definitely not to bash on this thread, as I think this deal is great and was about to pick up one myself, but did anyone have any problems with these lights? I read on some of the reviews, people mention the tabs are very delicate and broke easily.

I am considering what options there are to halogen lights. Is there a little bit more priced, albeit sturdy, better built-to-last halogen light that would be recommended?

As I mentioned before I was considering picking one of these up until a quick google showed up multiple negative reviews as well as reviews on the sears site.

I am enjoying my Husky light; it does wobble a little (due to a quick disconnect on the top) but is surprisingly sturdy and well built. 1000 watts is plenty of power and is variable between 500 watts (250 each) to 1000 (500 each). Everything is quicky and easy to move around as well.

I picked these up last night. Didn't break the plastic, though it is flimsy. The entire setup is cheap. Mine has trouble just staying at the correct level. It seems to slowly slide down even with the locks tightened completely.

+1 on the husky... I have a craftsman until I saw the husky.. after that the craftsman was returned....

I purchased these the other night, and they are pretty decent. Unfortunately, one of the lights doesn't work. I tried switching bulbs, checking the wiring, etc, but I am going to bring them back and get another set. They were nice and cheap, expecially with the $5 off.

the $40 version is much heavier and has the quick release adjusters on it, plus longer cord, etc... its very nice

I have that exact same setup... paid $35 for it I think months ago... definitely great for the price... I might even go get a second set so I don't have to move the one I have so much while I work.

I just put it together (despite the incorrect instrucitons) and it turns out I am having the same issue - I am waiting for the one side to cool down before testing to see if it is the bulb or what :bawling:

I had an issue with mine until I realized that I did not seat the bulbs properly. I then shattered one trying to re-fit. :sadpace:

I just them today and had a problem with getting one to work too. I just needed to re-fit the bulb too. They work fine, except for one of the switch covers is messed up.
