IE8 vs Chrome

I purchased a new car 2 weeks ago. Because of the weather, it's been in the garage and I haven't really had time to inspect it. However, today while I was checking it out in my garage under flourescent lights, I noticed what appeared to be 2 stains on the hood. These stains are about the size of a 1/2 dollar and appear to be under the clearcoat (can't feel anything on the cars surface).

I tried to wax them out with Meguiers #26 but with no luck. I didn't notice these when I picked the car up or when I washed it. I;m looking for opinions on whats the best approach to take for this problem. ie: leave it alone ( not really noticible in daylight) or let the dealers body shop try to take them out. I really dont want to get the hood repainted! Anybody got any ideas? I'M BUMMED.

deserttoy:( p.s. will Klasse help with this problem?

2002 Toyota Solara Convertible. Red Flame Metallic. I can probably take a picture with my digital camera. I don't know if it will show the problem!

If it seems to be like under the clearcoat and you cannot feel it, I'm guessing there isn't much you can do. You might want to try a mild abrasive such as 3M SMR or use a paint cleansing lotion and see if it helps.

But if its under the clear and you can't feel it, I doubt you can do anything to fix it yourself.

Good luck... :)

My guess is that BW is mining a prosperous vein here. Chances are it's not something that is weird and unusual. Chances are it happened from a bird dropping, a big bird... Try a good paint cleaner like PPCL. It isn't uncommon for new cars to have paint problems. They often spend a considerable time outside before, during and after transportation. Speaking of transportation. Rail transport in particular can lead to ferrous bits of rail dust becoming imbedded in your car's finish.

I'd recommend checking a new car to see if claying may be needed. Then I'd use a good paint cleaner like PPCL if you want to go with a carnauba based wax or AIO to prep for SG. These paint cleaners are gentle and safe to use for new paint. Anyhoo that's just my guess at the cause and what I would do. Keep us posted...

you may want to bring it to the dealership so they can log it and you have documentation incase it is the paint and you try fixing it yourself.

I would be scared to let a dealership touch my paint.

I know at one point most of us here were complaining how slow this site loads . And in my opinion compared to other sites not just detailing sites it still loads slow.

Well i decide to try out Googles Chrome browser and wow what a difference it is compared to IE8 and yes i know i'm old school when it comes to web browser everyone uses Foxfire .

Give it a try when you have some time .

I have been using Safari for all of my detailing web site and surfing. Very fast and I really like have my favorite and book marked sites in one nice line w/ drop down across the top. In my opinion Safari is even faster the Firefox or Chrome.

I only have trouble if I veiw threads with pictures. Then my PC sounds like its going to croak so I dont click on them much:D So sorry everyone thats why I havent commented on your work . Its not that Im being rude

Also I get logged off for no reason but I think AOL did something to my cookies on some update was suposed to help me> LOL

(So If I ever disappear soon out of the blue, either my PC died or Im on vacation :)hopefully the later!)

You should only use AOL as your ISP i would never use any of there Browsers to many add on . I would delete any AOL tool bars and use any other Browser . AOL has so much Ad ware it isn't funny

Can anyone that has Firefox compare it to Chrome? What do you think is faster?
I have both loaded so far it seems Chrome is a little faster then Firefox .The one thing i haven't done is do some download speed test . Between work and building some new computers for freinds just haven't had a chance . One other thing i know there is a ton of usefull addon's for Firefox not sure about Chrome .

Chrome baby!!! Been using it for a few months (switched from Firefox) and loving it. Clean, simple, and fast.

While it's the fastest browser (by a hair), it lacks all the cool add-ons that some people love Firefox for.

Either choice is a HUGE upgrade in speed and safety over internet explorer.
