Last 2 day a little wet and icy in NYC. Had alot of ice on hood and trunk lid. After about 2 hrs today of driving most of its gone, whats the best way to get the rest off without scratching and what to do after, thanks, PM
I think at this point, your best bet is to just leave it there and let it melt. If it is thick (here in PA there is a law that if ice/snow flies off your vehicle (mainly intended for chunks) that you can be cited. In that case, I usually just lightly tap on the ice with my hand until it cracks and then gently lift off. If it is just a thin coating, I just leave it there to melt.
I think anything you do is going to mar the finish, it probably dried on with dirt, salt, sand underneath. I just let it melt off, I clean just enough to see and turn the heat up to clear the rest of the windows.
