I think I went a little crazy with my order!

Mod Squad
I placed an order last night. I currently use brand X and wanted to try Klasse and PBs. This is my first venture in using another brand of detailing products. Here's what I ordered. (I did order from one of the sites sponsors)

Klasse AIO
Klasse SG
PBs PP
PBs PWC
PBs EX-P
303 Protectant
Detailers Pride Glass Restorer

I've been lurking the site for months and have posted here and there. I do most of my posting at another site. I started a weekend detailing business last spring.

I have a few questions. I've spent several hours searching Autopia and this site about the products I ordered. I feel I do have some product overlap but here's what I was thinking.

No offense to any manufacturers here... I would use the PBs for my every day clients (for efficiency) and the Klasse for my show car clients (and my stuff) where time and location is not a problem. The PBs products are appealing for the ease of use almost anywhere (some can be used in the sun).

Is this philosophy OK?

Am I missing any critical steps or products here?

A Product like NXT that has a small amount of cleaners should not be used as a topper for EX-P or Klasse, correct?

Does PP remove minor swirls? I understand it doesn't have abrasives in it.

Sorry about the lengthy post. I'm just really excited to start using these new products and I want my first attempts with them to be as smooth as using my current products.

Thanks for your help.

Seems reasonable to me.

Seems like you might need a swirl removal product or two.

It doesn't seem like a good combination to me. A non cleaning wax like Natty's or S100 Carnauba would be my choice.

The Pro Polish is a chemical cleaner and any swirl removal would probably be from the applicator rather than the PP. A dedicated swirl removal product would seem to be a better choice.

Add something for swirl removal and you should be good to go.

Charles

ps. Yes, you went overboard on your order. Just like all the rest of us do.:D
You can make good use of everything you purchased, though.

Thanks for reply. For swirls I have #83, #82, #80, #66, and #9 so I think I've got that covered too. That's what so crazy, I already have tons of products, but I really wanted to try these new products.

Back to toppers, I have #26 Hi tech wax. I don't think it has cleaners. That remains an option. I would like to try the S100 you mention. Is that an easy on easy off product like NXT and #26?

I know both PBs and Klasse can be worked with the PC. Any tips there too?
Thanks again for your reply.

Definitely looks like you have the swirl removal products covered.:)
You won't be disappointed in the products you have ordered.

#26 is not a product I use, but I have read that it can leave white residue on black plastic trim. :dunno

The S100 is a wipe on, wipe off product. No waiting for it to haze. Doesn't stain trim. About $15 at your local Harley shop.

Yes i agree with Charles...sounds like a good plan and looks like you've covered your bases...on an everyday car and detail, there really won't be a need for a topper.

Thanks for your replies. What is the main function of using PBs Pro Polish. It seems to be a cleaner?

The order should be here on Wed just in time for my days off for the holiday.

Thanks for the help and keep the replies coming.

Did you order some gallon size products??

Can EX-P be applied after #80 or should I use Pro Polish after #80? Using PP would negate the shine created by #80 though. I'm sure Klasse AIO then EX-P is a great combo too.

It all depends on what results you've got so far after the #80

I've have clayed and used PB's 2.5 w/yellow pad and found the surface clear and smooth ,ready for sealant . Once you use the products you've ordered and see the results you'll know that 1 product can be as good as 3..

I use alot of PwC for quick everyday wash-n-wax's .Great results .Especially for those customers that think wax will remove old waterspots.. :brick

Thanks for the reply. I was concerned about using a sealant over the polishing oils. Will that affect the sealants ability to bond. I know I shouldn't top carnauba with a sealant.

I have not heard of any bonding problems with this. In other words " I don't really KNow " .

One way to get rid of polishing oils is rubbing alcohol and water mix . Just spray and wipe off. You'll have a clean surface.
