I never knew how confusing getting a PC is...

So I went to my local supply place. They used to carry the 7424 or something like it last summer. But now only the 7428

So I searched this site over, but lets just say that the search button is much overrated. :p

I've decided to get the 7424 at Coastal Tool for $120 (5" counterweight, 6" foam polishing pad, 6" Hook &loop contour pad, 6" counterweight). It gets confusing with the pads. I understand the pads have to do with what I want to do. I'll basically be using it to apply blackfire polish, and the blackfire sealant. Of course I may use something a little more agressive before the blackfire polish. So, what pads should I get with this PC? I'm like a kid in a candy store on CMA's site.

Do I need anything else after this? I don't understand what all this means.

no matter which combo you buy (2 yellow, 2 black, 2 white or 3 black, 3 white), it'll be $45 for 6.

I went with polishing and finishing pads because my car is relatively new. As you mentioned in your initial post, you may want to try something a little more agressive, so you'll probably order yellow pads.

I've never used Blackfire, but you'd probably apply it with a finishing pad since it's a sealant.

This is an awesome write up if you haven't already read it.

I would apply a polish or other cutting product with the polishing pad (I just don't like to use a pad that's more aggresive than a polishing pad) and apply wax or sealant with the finishing pad. I think Lake's is black.

I don't think I'd actually use anything more agressive then a polishing pad with a porter cable. I'd take a course that teaches me how to uses a rotary.

Alas, I don't think I'm going to get one. It's too much ordering from too many different places. I like to be able to pick up the product I'm going to buy and know what I'm buying. It was difficult ordering Blackfire let alone a tool. Maybe I'm old fashioned. I'll just get good arm muscles.
