i was trying to remove a 1inch x 4' scratch on 1500 chevy suburban silver in color starting from the drivers l ft door to the front lft fender.

someone scraped the door with there mirror so the scratch could be rubber/plastic and its been a least a year ago. i removed a good portion of it with some GS 27 scratch remover, it wasn't easy and i had to use agressive rubbbing on the paint, i stopped because i was worried that the paint might fade. is there an easier product i can use to remove the scratch without fading the existent paint?

Thes sratch isn't directly in the paint, maybe i should have phrased it as a scuff mark. it looks like when a truck tire rubs up against another vehicle and leaves the rubber behind. if there's another word or terminolgy please let me know. it was hard to remove i ask the lady if the mark had been waxed over and she said no.
