Gee who wouldn't like this in the driveway!



Was going to get one of the SL500's but for the cost of the SL500, I could buy almost two SC430's!



Love to have one, but SC still has what that does only no 3 pointed star and the maintenance headaches I hear from owners.



Oh yea, today while on I-84, saw a Red ENZO going the opposite way.... Damn, if wife wasn't in the car, I'd be looking for one of the trooper u-turn areas and go and see it closer... First one I've seen on the road!

that was just a wash & clearkotes carnuba wax.

it was a wash & wax job only

One in Greenwich dealer when I was looking at the SL500. They HAD to show me that one now didn't they?

I do one car a year for pay, a black SL500. I detailed last in July.This weekend I saw the owner and he wants me to do it again.



He said he has a SL600 on order for April, wow!! :shocked :shocked hope I can do that one too!

The New 600's Are Beasts!

With The New 12 Cylinder Motor , It Really Closes The Performance Gap The 55 Had Before. I Havent Gotten To Drive A New 600 Yet, But Im Sure Its Unreal. When I Went To The Mercedes AMG Challenge, I Wished They Had A 600 There For Me To Compare The 55's Too, That Would Have Been Sweet!

If I was going to buy any Mercedes though, I'd get that AMG E55. Nothing like a sedan with 469 hp that runs 12.39 @ 116mph!
 
Netpower on the SL55 is 493 hp @ 6,100 rpm verus E55 which is 469 hp @ 6,100 rpm.



Net Torque on the SL55 is 516 lb-ft @ 2,750 - 4,000 rpm versus E55 which is 516 lb-ft. @ 2,650 - 4,500 rpm.

Yes, but the E55 has a big weight advantage and consistanly posted quicker 0-60 and quartermile times.



Even with everything being equal, I like the E Class more than the S Class cars because they are smaller.

The Only SL, '03 and Onwards That Was Painted In Designo Silver Was The SL500 Launch Edition. These Were A Limited Number Of Cars, All Optioned The Same Way, The Same Colors, All Identical. The Launch Edition Even Had Its Own Wheels Only Available On the Launch Edition. These Were the Cars The Dealers Had For The SL's Unveiling.



SL500's, 55's, and 600's Can Be Had In Desert Silver, Pewter Silver, Diamond Silver, And Brilliant Silver, But Not Designo Silver.



LOL, It Can Get A Bit Confusing When There Are So Many Silvers Available! :p



The Only Mercedes With It As An Extra Cost Option Currently Is The S-Class Sedan.
 
bj-thanks for the info, although if I am not mistaken, the car Brian posted is a very light green metallic. Does MB consider that a type of silver paint?

Its Actually Quite Bizzarre. Its Called Designo Silver Metallic, and it is A Goldish Green Color. Why They Chose To Call It A Silver I Will Never Know.



Here is the same color on a S-class, this is actually my mothers car:

One of my customer's moms has that color on an SL600. When she gets something else in a year or two, the daughter gets the car.

Is This SL600 A New One? If So, Then They Have Changed The Order Options For '04 SL600's, Since They Havent Even Been Officially Releaed Yet! The Other SL's Still Arent Available With That Color, Which Is A Shame, Cause Its A Really Nice Color!

this color is like a light mint green color, it is the SL55



i checked with the owner today to be sure as i did not take a rear picture
