GOT PREP?
I CLEAN UP AFTER THEM!!!!! Today I had two interior only details at the same location. Owners were as nice as they could be, the interiors? Eh, not so great.

The first was a Toyota Tacoma, not sure of the year. The interior was FULL of dog hair and other assorted goodies.

In order to tackle the dog hair, I use several techniques. First I vacuumed all of the hair that I could a section at a time. I then sprayed Costco APC 10:1 into the carpets and allowed it to dwell for a few seconds. I then put on some blue nitrile gloves and brushed the hair with my fingers into balls, which were vacuumed up. This got the majority of the hair. The hair that remained was taken care of by using an upholstery brush and my shop vac.

For the stains in the carpets I used Costco APC 10:1 and followed up with the LGCM. The vinyl was also cleaned with Costco APC and dressed with meguiars #40.

During this detail I learned that focusing on small areas intensely is the only was to gain satisfaction. If you try to do too large of an area it almost seems like you are fighting your self. Working in small sections is the key.

Had to empty the shop vac when finished. I am going to start a separate thread for the other car, it may have been worse in itsâ€â„¢ own way.

Awesome work!! :xyxthumbs Great job :xyxthumbs

That glove trick is a good idea. Another way is to use a wet nail brush and scrape along the carpet. The hair lodges up in the brush.

Did you use the the 10:1 on the seats?

Yep, 10:1 on the seats too. I love Costco APC, the smell is awesome and it performs really well. Did I mention how cheap it is? :D

I think I used your nail brush with the upholstery brush. The upholstery brush that I use is the one from Meguiars that is about 3" long and 1" wide. I wiped it along the surface, then vacuumed the brush, then carpet. Is that what you mean?

Thanks to everyone else!!!

Superb work, that interior looks brand new. I hate dog hair but you did a great job in getting what appears to be every last hair out of that truck, awesome work.

That really is a great job, I just got done cleaning the gf's tracer with a 10:1 of castroil degreaser, it worked ok but, man, are my hands ever dried out, wished i could get my hands on some of that costco apc, could anyone point me in the right direction to find some in NC, BTW good luck cleaning that filter, I havent cleaned the one in my Rigid yet, so i dont know what to expect.

cant wait to see pics of the other vehicle

Thanks, I actually "banged" out the filter in their garbage can before I left. :D It came faily clean and performed much better afterwards.

The best thing for you to do with the APC is to find out where the nearest Costco is. You could probably look on their website. You would then need to either get a membership or find someone who has one.

Good luck!!

Wow, nice job. Those people...I don't get it. Our dogs are in the MPV almost every day and it sure never looks like that! I'd guess that they "maintain" their dogs (i.e., groom them) about the way they take care of that vehicle

OMG, i just saw your cavalier thread.....u had your work cut out for you man....incredible job!!!!!!

Sad part is that the owner will prolly have his dog/s in there by the end of the weekend:(

Dude, let the dog out of the shop vac!

Incredible work as usual. Have you tried Folex yet to pretreat spots? If not, stop by Target...It's working great for Liz and I with pet stains.

Isn't that a 5HP 4 Gal Ridgid? Looks like a good vac! Maybe replace my 4.5 HP 4 Gal Shop Vac!

Yeah Sean I have been using Folex for a few years now, but when I am detailing I always just reach for the APC. I don't know why, but it seems as though the folex always gets put in the "household" cleaning items. I buy Folex by the gallon at my local Lowes.

Thanks to everyone else and yes I was fairly compensated. ;)

Amazing work on those carpets! Thats almost unbelievable!

I did a Grand Cherokee one time that was about 20 times worse, the dog hair was SO bad you could not even see the carpeting. He was having it detailed because he was taking some friends to the beach for a week and they refused to ride in his car until he got it cleaned up.

Again, really top notch work.

amazing work i think u just took pictures of two different cars :) haha anyways might i ask how long that job took you and what you charged for it?
