I like the look

of wax. With spring here I'll be doing some serious waxing(hopefully next weekend). No matter the wax I use I like the look(of course I like some better than others). After being just a sealant man I've come to the conclusion that the wax look does it for me. Anyone else feel this way or are you satisfied with stopping at a sealant?:passout:

i like sealants myself, but i also like to top the sealant with some good ole wax, pinnacle is usually my choice for my personal driver.
:bow

I think that my detailing eye has changed. At one point I used to like to top a sealant with a wax but my eye(or maybe my work ethic) has changed a tad these last months. I have four or five waxes sitting about but they stay on the shelf as of late.

A man can never have enough wax.:rockon:bigups
With that said my first LSP is always a sealer or two then I apply wax until I do it all over again.:D:D

If I had to choose a LSP wax over sealant it would be wax its a more brilliant shine IMO

If time allows then the sealant under wax is the best!

Rabbi, I'm with you. Everything I do ends up with a paste wax as an LSP. I use a lot of sealants and of course have my favorites but I like to finish with a wax whether I use a sealant or just paste wax. It's the crayon smell, very therapeutic.

Over the years, I have used many waxes and many sealants and I can't truly say I have a preference either way. I even tried the carnauba over sealant thing and decided it wasn't worth the effort.

One thing I might mention, you see/hear a lot about how this sealant looks like a carnauba, right?
When was the last time you saw/heard a carnauba claim to look like a sealant? :D

Whatever floats your boat. :bigups

I have never heard a carnauba looks like a sealant.
For the record I always lay down a sealant before I start multilayering my wax.If I feel that my wax is gone I polish then start my topping process (sealant/wax) again.:passout:

Depending on whether or not I continue to justify the cost of Wolfgang (at $35 bucks a bottle now) or UPP (still $30 bucks) I may just go back to carnaubas. Those aren't really cheap either. XMT360 is really nice looking, so maybe that. Danase Classic Wax resembles some of the elements of S100 and Souveran, so I'll probably be going that route. I haven't used any of the Natty's waxes yet, but who knows? My choice in sealants lately have benefited from a carnauba topper, but honestly since I can put on a coat of sealant faster than I can hand wax, sealants are money makers for me. For my own cars (silver and sort of charcoal) I don't get an awful lot of depth either way, so I really don't know what I'll do. Customers want mad shine that lasts and I just can't give that to them in one day if they want me to use carnauba. Synthetics are really the way I have to go when they ask for that.

Depends on the color. Seriously I've never found anything I like better than three coats of Wolfgang on any color. However, for time's sake I don't know that I can get the look I prefer most with one coat of sealant or one coat of wax. It is a combination of both that my eyes require. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though, so everybody will come up with a different answer for that one.
