I just got a call from the CEO of a detailing product line

I am not going to name who he is or the name of his product line.

He told me that 2 well known detailers told him to call me.

(I called both of these detailers right away and both said they did not tell him to call me.)

He told me that both of these detailers love his products.

(One of the detailers has tested his products and said that a few are good to very good, but for the most part they are average. The other detailer said he has never tested his products, but might do so soon.)

So if the CEO of a product line calls you and starts throwing the names of detailers around..... Call those detailers and get it straight from them.

Eh...old recruiter tactic. I gather he wanted you to use his products? Typical butter-up, he tried to stoke your ego by saying that he hears about what a great detailer you are, etc.

Oh yes right off the bat with that BS. Telling me how he is going to setup a large distributor in this area and they will be looking for a quality detailer to use their products.

I just find that people who outright lie like this are the type of people that I would never do business with. I don't care if they have the best products around.

I don't know who it was in your neck of the woods, but I've had a couple of those guerillas trying to shake bananas from my tree here. Shame, shame... products speak for themselves... send free samples instead.

Tell him him to send a few gallons of each of their product to test. And you if you

like them, then you might/maybe consider a partial/semi endorsement.
