I just can't win...

COME AT ME BRO
Was going at it tonight, polishing out the last of the few tight spots with the PC and a 4" pad. Then this happened.....

The detailing gods are just lined against me I suppose.

Man, that could have been a nightmare. Hopefully all that was damaged was the backing plate...right?

That's bites....also you need some cream on your hands they look a little dry....LOL

Haha, looking at the pic, it does look that way. Polishing really dries out my hands, and I took that pic right as I came inside. Thanks for noticing Dave. :)

No damage to the vehicle occured, I caught it just in time.

I've had that BP a couple of years, but really have not used it all that much. I was surprised it didn't take much to do it in. I was polishing at 5 with a 4" spot pad. Go figure.

I can't believe this, I acutally scrolled back to look at the hand shot.....what's wrong with me??

Jared, when that plate breaks like that is there any chance of the pad/plate buckling under or off to the side and exposing the connection area to the paint? I had a coworker buff right through the pad once I think and grind some paint on his Vette.

Had I not noticed the pad hop and wobble, it could have possibly separated entirely and I could have hit the paint with what was left with attached to the PC. Good thing is, I now have the finish polished out to probably 95+% free of defects, so the hard work is done. ZAIO tomorrow after a wash, followed by a coat of Z2 Pro.

And for everyone that's interested, I "rubbed the lotion on the skin."

And yet again, the detailing gods smite me! I ordered a back plate and pads this morning, and yep, you guessed it. I just got an Email from AG for a 15% discount! I just had to chuckle. Not that the extra 5% is a big deal, but I just thought the way that things have been happening to me lately (detialing wise) it was fitting. What will happen next? Stay tuned!!! Haha!

Well, to answer that question...

Last night I was going to ONR the Tacoma and get to work with ZAIO. About two panels into the ONR session, the power goes out (we were having some strong winds mixed with rain). It was out until about 4:00 am. The saga continues.....
