Using my mothers 3 step system , i wanted to change out the step 2 sealer and glaze and then use nxt instead then using pure caranuba over it? You guys think that would work well?? Someone said it should work really well but i wanted to ask you guys first.

I heard from so many people around the net nxt is more of a sealer and it's a very good one and leaves a nice deep shine. It should be better then the mothers sealer, so i thought use the nxt since it is better and top it with a pure caranubu which some people have said works very very well with a synthetic wax and really makes it shiney and deep so i think i am going to do it :up

NXT and Mothers Sealer and Glaze are totaly different products. NXT is a polymer sealant with light cleaning ability. It is really a last step product but like I said many top it with something else. Mothers Sealer and Glaze is a product loaded with fillers and oils. You would use it to fill in marring and get a deep wet look. It provides little if any cleaning ability or protection and is used before you wax. Sealer and Glaze is an optional step.

No. The Sealer and Glaze is an optional step if you are going to finish with a wax. Many skip the glaze and go to the last step product. NXT has cleaners in it and would remove anything that the Sealer and Glaze would leave behind. So do either the NXT or Sealer and Glaze but not both.

I was readin the reviews and he said the paint looked better when he used his megs stage 1 cleaner, stage 2 polish then nxt on top.

If so though would u choose nxt or the sealer??

FUNNY, how Mothers calls it a 'Sealer" yet most agree that it isnt a sealer in any way,,, or is it??

stated that it has little, if any protection...yet that is what sealants provide...PROTECTION!

I'd like to hear from Forrest, I think it is, in regards to the Step #2 in Mothers line. I have some but dont use it,,,prolly cause i have too many glazes right now.

steck it's called 'Sealer and Glaze' not 'Sealant and Glaze'...a subtle but important point.

Its more of a descriptive name than a category of product. As I understand it, they used the expression 'sealer' to indicate that it seals and smooths minor imperfections on the surface after cleaning...which it does, like many other products. It came out long (about 15 years ago) before the term 'sealant' became a popular name for synthetic waxes. 'Sealant' is the new kid on the block.

Kool, S&G has quite good bonding attributes. IMO, NXTs minimal cleaners won't remove S&G.

My only concern would be that NXT might not bond properly on S&G and have M-wars!

If I were you I'd do a side by side...S&G + Carnauba on one half, NXT + Carnauba on the other half and compare the looks.

I am having a tuff time deciding b/c i don't wanna spend money if i don't have to, what would u guys suggest if u had the chance nxt or the sealer and glaze??

IMO it depends on the condition of your paint. It doesn't sound like you will be using an abrasive so if you have marring I would go with Sealer and Glaze and top with the wax. Sealer and Glaze is one of the best products out there for filling in swirls and marring. If your paint is in good condition try NXT and top with the wax.

Why not buy both the NXT and Sealer and Glaze and do a side by side comparison and go from there. Sealer and Glaze is very inexpensive.

I wanted to know if using nxt would be better so i could return the s&g and get nxt, if the results will be that much better i will spend the 10 bucks but if not much better screw nxt. wanthing to know the best for the price

Personally, I like to experiment so I'd get both :D ...but we're not talking about me!

I can't decide for you. All I know is that *both* products are designed to fill imperfections, enhance and deepen the colour of your paint. Although they're totally different to each other, they're both consumer products and look great, and you'll be topping them with a carnauba.

I have no issue with either of them. Some have complained about NXT durability, but S&G isn't designed for durability either, its just a glaze.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but I can't tell you how to spend your money when both the options you're looking at will give you similar looks (especially since you're topping them with the same carnauba) and great results.

I think i might stick with the sealer and glaze then, i think the nxt might give better results but not worth the money b/c the mothers 3 stage from what i hear works well so :xyxthumbs

After reading the reviews nxt isn't to great of a product anyway, id like to try but nobody has done it so and i don't wanna spend the money right now, someday

:up

Kool_ZX3, I have used NXT over Mother's Sealer & Glaze with great results on my next door neighbours Hyundai... Had no problems with compatability and durability.

Did her car 2 months ago cos she's a really nice lady and is getting on in years and has always been good to me! It still beads, is slick and after a wash looks like the day I put 2 coats of NXT on! It's never been polished & waxed since new, 97 model.

The S&G hid some very minor swirls and made the clearcoat shine & glow. It's a dark metallic green colour. I didn't want to put anything on it after 7 hours work on the car! But the NXT was something else, looked good on application, looked even better the next morning! I don't believe it removed much of the S&G (I put on 2 coats for even coverage), it's not a strong or mild cleaner as some people post.

So if your keen to try it, then go for it. I wish I had some pictures as you'd see how good it looked. Just remember to do it with a smile & enjoy yourself. Don't get too serious about it...Take care
