I hate hackers

I hate hackers with a passion - unless I am getting paid the big bucks to fix their screw ups! Check out what some idiot did to this guys Porsche:

I did 2 interior hack jobs last week, one she paid $100 to get her van cleaned, and they must have used a garden hose and a wet vac as the carpet and backing were wet and i had to pull it out.

The other was a car another woman bought and she wanted it recleaned as they just smeared dressing over all the dirt and left this dirty, oily mess.

This coming week i have a black Firebird that was polished by another detailer and looked good until it was washed a couple times and the fillers are gone.

I see cars all the time with horrible rotary swirls in them. How can someone do that to someone else's car and feel good about the job they do?

Its pretty simple , the customers don't know any better . In the short time I've been detailing professionally I found most of the customer only care if its clean and shines then its good to go.

Part of my routine with a new customer is to go over the vechile with them pointing out problems ( its a good way to cover your butt to note damage thats alreay on the car like dents or broken trim that you may be blamed for after the detail) I find more then half the customers don't see the swirls even when I point them out and discribe them they still don't see it .

One way I look at it is that hackers around my neck of the woods keep me in business. On the other hand it does get to me seeing customer's being taken by discount detailers, volume detailers, etc.

Amen AJ!! On one hand they get you good "restoration" jobs yet in the other you lose some business because they get the "price conscience" folks. I know for a fact that I lose business to some part time guys because they can afford to undercut my prices badly. The quality of their work remains to be seen...

Regardless, you'd think a detailer would have enough personal pride in themselves to do good work no matter what the customer may or may not notice.

Scott.....Nice rescue on that Porsche :up I am partial to Porsche so it is always heartbreaking to see one trashed like that but thankfully he brought it to the right person, great work!

Lets pool some funds together and get Scott a REAL camera!! LOL!!

Nice job on the ride. Glad you guys saved it.

Thanks Joe but it's unnecessary. I actually have a brand new Canon Digital Rebel with all the toys and a Canon ELPH digital but don't bring the Rebel out due to size and the girlfriend took my elph to Toronto so I stuck using my crappy low resolution camera phone. DEAL WITH IT! :xyxthumbs

Check these out. We have the BMW here fixing all the damage done by the shop around the corner except the wheels. Unfortunately they wrecked them and this is the result:

how did they manage to get the chrome off?? Thats totally unacceptable!!

The customer explained that they had washed the car in the sun and let hydrophloric acid sit on the wheels until it dried. They then set about blasting the hell out of the wheels with the pressure washer and all the chrome came right off. I wish people would just stop opening detail shops if they don't don't know or care about doing a good job. :grrr
