Okay so Iam detailing my car and have a new in packet Zaino red clay from 2 yrs ago. I really despise claying the car.

Anything faster or better? I've heard of an autoscrub like thing a few yrs back but i get the impression most people didn't buy into it and are still claying today.

I never really understood this because Claying's never taken me a long time or anything.  I usually clay while washing the car honestly and it doesn;t take much time or effort.

Actually a lot of people, including myself, have ditched the clay for the autoscrub.  The ABC kit is nice just be careful to follow the instructions.  It's great for a really bad car I guess but I'd clay for anything not too bad.

as everyone has pointed out, the autoscrub (rubberized clay pad that attaches to the DA) and clay towels are good options if you don't want to use traditional clay. the nice thing is you will get more uses from both and if you drop them, just rinse them off. one of the sponsors (detailersdomain) on here sells them (as does a few other), here's a link below...

also, help support all the sponsors on here if you buy some detailing products. there's a list of them on the link below... :)

I still prefer clay over any of the alternatives. Takes a bit longer but for me I get the best results and speed is not a priority.

This is more of my Autopian Heresy, but....Does it even need claying/etc.?  I know, I know, everybody clays/etc. all the time, but I'd first determine whether or not it really needs doing.

While I spot-clay as needed at every wash, I don't always clay when reLSPing and it's never been an issue.  (Just as I got by OK without clay for decades.)

When you are doing a simple detail package on an average car the clay mitts/towels are great.

When you are working on vehicles that trump the cost of your home, use clay.

Here's my take: I have good results with Clay Magic and Mothers, but, other brands, including the pricey Riccardo stuff have sucked (IMHO). The clay towels and nano block stuff have all of the benefits and none of the drawbacks of traditional clay. I know I have bought my last piece of clay. But I ain't one to judge, just telling how I feel and lord knows there are more opinions on this than there are members on the forum.
