About 2 weeks ago I polished half my hood using SSR2.5 and an Excel Yellow, only removed about half the swirls, but made a huge mistake.



I guess i got a little heavy or something around the edges of the hood and now I have about 2 spots where the clearcoat is now cracking off almost like.



Maybe my fault or clear coat failure, but either way it sucks.



So, in conclusion, USE TAPE. :D



Now I'm scared I only have a little clear on the rest of the car. Should I polish? :wall
 
Why don't you take some measurement's with a PTG (paint thickness gauge) maybe a fellow autopian has one that lives close by. Doing this would let you know where you stand with your CC. :buffing:
