I don't wanna live on this planet anymore

What has this world come to when some fruit loop that wants to be a woman wins an award over this guy?

My vote would've definitely gone to Galloway too (real *HERO* there, just *so* inspiring!), but I'm not gonna pass judgement on people with sexual identity issues. Those folks go through enough grief as it is.

If Jenner wants to pretend to be a woman so be it but why is this news worthy? Reality TV in so many instances has become such a poor influence on humanity. In my mind reality TV should be shows like This Old House and Yan can Cook, not the Kardashians. I and I believe many others have never seen a single episode of the Kardashians but how could anyone not be aware of them? We're not just treading water here, we're sinking. It's completely beyond my comprehension. Just my two cents.

We have become a nation of too many mindless idiots. We should understand the lessons of "The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire". Or, from Animal House, "Fat, dumb and lazy is no way to go through life, son". Maybe the pendulum will turn. But I'm not holding my breath.

Yan Can Cook--and so can you! I used to love that show. Yeah, the "news" isn't really news anymore, to our detriment. It's kind of like 40 years ago when American companies decided quality control was overhead that could be cut--look where that got us. Now entertainment masquerades as news, and we're oblivious to important realities of our world. Where is Walter Cronkite when you need him? Oh yeah, he's dead.

Eh, why pay attention to it then?

I don't know from any of those [individuals] and I don't care about them any more than they care about me.

I just ignore that [crap]. I don't watch reality TV, I don't watch Pro Sports, I don't watch infotainment news or talk shows, I don't listen to talk radio, I don't read ads or listen to commercials. That stuff doesn't add value to my life so it's just not part of my experience. I apply my resources, especially my time, to other stuff... stuff that *does* add value to my life.

But I'm not gonna pass judgment on folks for personal issues that're none of my business and I'm gonna keep mouthing off when somebody else does. ESPECIALLY anything related to sexual orientation or identity (or some of the other issues I go ballistic about).

Hey, it's not like I'm opposed to judgment in general, IMO it's the basis for the assignment of esteem...as the lady said, "Judge and prepare to be judged". But I try to judge fairly and confine my judgment to 1) stuff that's actually my business and 2) situations where the judgment might prove productive; for the most part that means only judging myself.

I mean no offense as I respect your take on things but I believe my obserbation may be somewhat apparent to others as well. You seem to be in conflict with your own convictions. You claim not to pass judgment on folks for certain issues but you say you mouth off (may be viewed as passing judgement) on someone else that chooses to do something of which you do not approve. Depending on where one sits that too may be both hypocritical and none of your business (your words). Perhaps caution is in order, the elevation of the pedestal from where these views were made may cause nose bleeds. ;)
