I did it again

I think my girlfriend is going to kick me out of the house when she finds out I just bought more detailing products. This is getting addictive! Placed an order with Danas for Some Collonite 845, Red Moose Machine Glaze, Four start SMR, Four Star LCC, and a few applicators. Will this be enough to get a decent finish out of a green metallic truck? Oh, I will also be using a megs clay bar.

Just pack your bags just in case, what you have there seems good to me....(i hide half of my stuff from the wife)

Just do her car first ( make it seem like you wanted to do something nice for her), then get around to your car. Always, Always, Always make it appear to be about her ( years of accumulated married wisdom).

I try to hide my purchases from my wife also and she hasn't really questioned anything except the Makita as there was a huge box sitting in the garage. That one was a bit too obvious :)

NOW THATS SMART THINKING. HOW COULD SHE BE MAD IF I DID IT TO PLEASE HER!

Hey, I'm going to use the Rotary,... should I use a light cut pad for the LLC and SMR and then a Polishing Pad for the RMG, or should I use a polishing pad for everything. (I have alot of polishing pads)?

Start to charge your friends to do their cars, show her the money, she won't complain.

My friends are as cheap as the day is long....

you should see what beautiful cars they have, and how awful the paint is on them :grrr

Im going to be in the doghouse right along with you come next week. But since my wife helps on the interior detailing, its hard to hide it all from her. But she's catching the bug, too, so I think she's beginning to understand

Thats what I did with the cars... I am still trying to figure out if It worked, or I did myself in:confused: . When we met she used to complain I spent too much time and money on my Chevelle... now she has a Corvette she recently made me install a full length magnaflow exhaust, keyless entry, and a few other goodies. Shes talking about a procharger in the future :soscared:.

But its the same old story "Whats hers is hers, and whats mine is hers:help:." She doesn't quite get the detailing yet though.

Correction: she always wants a clean car with perfect paint but she doesn't understand why I need to purchase these "expensive (at least thats what she thinks) products."

Whatever...

How I worked it out with my wife was, she liked the extra money I brought in from detailing. She works nights, I work days at my regular job. When I had a detail waiting at the house, I'd tell her we were only getting half because the client wanted his vehicle back that night and I would only have time to do the exterior. She didnt like the idea of losing out on money so she asked me to show her how to do the interiors, then started doing them before she went to work. Kind of manipulative but it was true and it worked! Now Im in here playing with the baby and she's detailing her car in the garage :)

1) its time for a new girlfriend if she doesnt approve of your detailing habits.

2) you dont need to spend alot of money to have perfect paint. Only if you like jumping on bandwagons...lol

You are correct... I was doing great with the Zaino, but that lead me to thinking maybe theres something better. I just like trying new things, unfortunately everything I like seems to be expensive.
