Not Perfect My Ass!!! Looks great!

what'd you do, i need a good clean down. did you cover the battery, etc.?

I didn't cover ANYTHING. I was watching a guy detail an engine at a detail shop and he was hitting a new F-150 engine with a pressure washer full stream with the engine running. He told me everything is waterproof. But if you are not as brave (or stupid) as I am, you might cover up the electronic components. I sprayed it down with Gunk Engine Brite, and when I ran out of that I used orange degreaser. I agitiated with a brush, wiped down the plastic with a wet sponge, hosed everything down full stream and sprayed CD-2 Engine Detailer on it.

Nice job, for a more involved detail you might want to sand down the paint on that radiator to get the rust off and then re-paint it. Great shine in there, CD2 is good stuff.

Nice work I hate doing engines but do anyway.....I have yet to use water direct on the motor much like yourself always afraid of screwing something up.

The CD2 where are you getting this stuff at?

He's pretty much right, just don't get the pressure nozzle 'up close and personal' with electrical connectors purposely tring to get water inside. One thing you can do is to spray electrical components with WD-40 (or something similar) before hosing the engine down. The advantages are twofold: 1) WD-40 is an EXCELLENT degreaser, it literally melts grease away and 2) It was DESIGNED to displace water from electrical components, so if the connectors are already soaked in WD-40, the water a) can't get in or b) won't stay in if it manages to enter the connector.
