I Couldn't Help Myself

I just can't help fooling around with my black Santa Fe. It has been a couple of months since the original application of NXT. I was totally pleased! NXT, NXT Spray Wax and FD are a killer combination!

But, I had to play with it. Last December I availed myself of the clearance sale on 4*UPP. I had used UPP V.2 about a year ago and was pleased with the results. (I was still new to the detailing game) The next iteration was S100, then EX, then NXT. Every time produced a new "favorite."

I applied 4*UPP V.3 today. It is quite seasonable with temperatures in the high 70s. I waited an hour to remove UPP using a concours buffing cloth under a Wal-Mart orbital at 2800 OPS. I must say that I am very impressed!

Now, with the yellow pollen season at hand, it will be a challenge to keep the paint looking nice. I intend to use S&W to knock down the pollen and then use Meg's FD to make it shine.

I will keep you informed.

Sounds like a great combination for keeping it clean ... so which did you like better on the black vehicle ... NXT or UPP? and of course ... Why? Your comments will be appreciated.

Oh boy! VERY hard to say. With NXT I took my Hyundai to the dealer (Jaguar/Hyundai) and the service manager asked if I had a shot of clear sprayed on the car. It looked that good.

On the "other hand," I just had to try UPP v .3. I was not disappointed. Is there a difference in the "look?" I'm not really sure. It does seem very slightly more "liquid." The real test is how it looks next week - and next month. With NXT you have the Spray Wax to keep up the shine. With UPP there is the QD, but I'm not sure that it will revive the shine like the NXT product.

Like I say. Time will tell. I hope that I can last a month.

UPP v ..2, uppv.3? how many version are they? what's d difference? I didn't realise there's more than 1 version of upp, so does that make the platinum brand version numero uno?

UPP v.3 was released in April, 2003. V.2 in the Autumn of '02 or thereabouts. Large difference in consistency between the two. V.3 is "runny" while v.2 is much more "creamy."
