My local supply guy sells OPT products, he recently talked me into buying this protectant Sealant, It's called SunX and it was $40 for a gallon. I have tried to google it and didn't come up with much? anyone else ever heard of or tried this stuff out? Ive used it on a few cars and I havn't done any real testing on it. it's a polymer sealant

thanks, i dont notice a deep glossy shine after i use it like i would with my yellow carnuba paste wax, So i figured it was more of a polymer sealant?

You posted the label above, it's a combination of carnauba and polymer sealants with UV inhibitors. It's the same product as Optimum Car Wax, you should be able to find plenty of info searching on that or OCW. If you prefer the "deep glossy shine" of your paste wax, continue to use your paste wax.

Wow, thank god they went with the current OCW label.

That stuff looks like some As Seen On TV crap.

BTW, the current version OCW gives an awesome shine.

Sheesh, I finally found it in another thread, from Dr. G:

"We have never done any private labeling of any of our products. SunX is our trademark and we were at one point trying to switch from Optimum to SunX, however, once a label is created, it has a life of its own and it is up to the people to tell us to print it or not. As for Huey Chemical offering SunX, they are one of our distributors who also offer Optimum Polish and Optimum Compound. If anyone ever looks at their label, it would say "Distributed by Huey Chemical" and no where it says manufactured by them."

That was in this thread: http://www.autopia.org/forum/car-detailing-product-discussion/62492-hmmm-prestone-qs-ocw-6.html

Setec, I read the thread. Nice read btw...

Im guessing this is the old version of OCW though correct? Since the version in that thread seperated.

As there are 2 versions of OCW

Or do they still distribute this under sunX as well....sorry...only a high school education :rofl

I really don't know, if they are still selling it I imagine it is the current version. The phone number is right on the label picture above, why don't you guys call?

I guess if you want to keep asking the same question over and over until you get an answer you like, then go ahead. If we're going to start hurling invective, you're 4 lines over your sig limit, and you have a non-allowed commercial link, cowboy.
