Hyundai paint question

My wife recently bought a new 2004 Sonata.

Anyone have any experience with the type

of paint and clear they use? I ran my hands

down the paint and it is really grainey (sp?)

and waves.

Definitely needs to be clayed.

Any ideas on if this is normal for their stuff?

I'd think waves would be orange peel. Some cars have more than others.



Grainy...maybe paint overspray from something else. Clay it and see what it's like afterward.

It has some orange peel, but it feels more like

what a long radio wave would like if you understand

what I'm trying to get at. Not noticeable to the eye

but you can feel it. I'll try to clay it this week and report

back.
