HydrO2 is pretty great, right?

It seems like HydrO2 was super popular for a while and then suddenly wasn`t. I bought some to protect my wheels and tires for the winter and I can`t get over how great of a job it is doing. I live at the end of a dirt road so any help I can get is appreciated. You can seen in the photo that the sidewall (protected with Perl and HydrO2) is completely clean compared to the rest of the tire.

CarPro says you can spray your whole car with this stuff. Does anyone do that? Any reason not to?

I’m not sure about everyone else but I still have and use Hydro2 on a regular basis. I use it mostly for wheels. In the summer I use it monthly and now in the winter I use it more often.

I have used it as whole car protection and it works well. But I tend to over do the “rinse it off” part so I don’t run into the issues others have with streaks. So I do the panel and all the surrounding panels and in usually rinse them twice. But is is nice to. It have to touch the paint to apply protection.

I think on the forums and the Facebook groups they tend to focus on the newest version or products.

There has just been more products that do the same thing like McKees SiO2 that take market share and headlines away from Hydro2. Its still a good product and provides good 3 month protection. I don’t know if the new brands are any better or worse.

Hydro2 is still good. It still a solid performer. I have used it on paint before and did experience some light streaking. I also primarily use it on wheels although not as often anymore. I found that using it to often would result in more dirt and grime build up. Using it every few months is the way I would go.

Does it have a shelf life? Is it temperature sensitive?

As long as the concentrate is kept from freezing I don`t think there is a shelf life.

Once it is mixed up I am not sure to be honest. At one point early on most all of these types of products said to mix what you need and use it in 1 application. But I have mixed a 16oz bottle and used it 2-3 months later with no issue. And the RTU versions are basically the same thing and don`t have a shelf life that I can find.

For lower temps I have used is as colds as down into the 30`s with no issues.

I would guess the real issue is at higher temps where we need to make the the product is rinsed off fully before it dries. I don`t do it on warm panels in direct sun as that is where many have had issues.
