Hydro-tech pads

To add to this thread:

I just tried the 6.5" tangerine pad with OP and found this to dry the OP up rather quickly, I was also having gumming problems. I switched to an 6.5" orange CCS pad and the OP worked like it normally does; long working time, next to no dust and finished out great.

Is there a learning curve with these pads or do they just not like OP?

Anyone have experience with different polishes and these hydro-tech pads?

audicoupej I had the same exact problem with the tangerine pad and M205 i posted a thread about it but didnt get much of a response.

It was gumming up the product real bad and throwing like small balls of it all over the car are you experiencing the same thing?

I think I read somewhere that the secret is to use less polish with the Hydro-Tech pads, as they keep the polish on the surface of the pad instead of absorbing quite a bit of it.

Haven't gotten mine yet to try it out, though.

i would like to know this as well. I am using ccs pads now and have been hearing so many good things about flat pads and those hydro tech pads but after reading this makes me wonder.

I hate ccs pads though so hopefully someone can find a solution to this.

superbee let me know once you get them how you like them....i have tried numerous combination from different ways of priming the pad to diff amounts or polish diff pressures and passes everything

I think it might just be the pads but im still open to the user error option haha

That is the exact problem I had. But this was my first attempt with these pads.

I've only had products gum up on me in the past a few times and usually it was from the humidity but I was using different pads.

Superbee, I feel like I ddin't have much product on the pads, I will try using less next time.

The pads definitely keep the product on the surface. When I poured some Liquid Tide HE on them it just sits on the surface unlike the normal LC pads which soak it in. They also were a pain to get all the soap out of compared to the normal pads.

Still, I am anxious to try them again since I've heard such good reviews about them.
