Huck Surgical Towels?

Is anyone using these for glass cleaning?

I've been eyeing getting some to see how they work for the buffing part on glass. I am for ever fighting with linting or smears on glass. Using my MF just for glass towels.

Maybe I'm expecting to much:D

I more than understand the process and take my time, but it always seems to have some smears on the glass no matter what.

Just as an FYI I use Stoners IG and Sprayway for cleaners, the later of the two is my go to

I have always used MF towels to do my glass. I am not familiar with surgical towels or what they look like or the material they are made of. The only way I can avoid smearing or streaking is to clean the glass in the shade and the windows need to be cold...If I can get that I have never had issues.

IMO the very best towels for cleaning glass. Huck towels and SprayWay aerosol has been a very efficient combination for me.

Been using them for a while now. I buy them by the dozen from my local janitorial supply house. An easy choice really, take a peek at what pro window cleaners use. This is the towel by a significant majority.

Thanks called the local janitorial supplier and he has them.
Don't overstock initially. They are robust towels. A couple of dozen will last a looooong time.

is there a quality difference between the different huck towels? Thanks
There may be, but I am not aware of any. I think some may have been previously used and then cleaned and some are new. AFAIK the ones I've purchased are new.

A loooong time ago, a service station I worked at used those for windows. The guy that ran the station hated chamois skins because they always left a greasy film on the windshield that streaked the next time the wipers were used.

The waffle weave MF, (I think), kitchen towels at Wal-Mart seem to work pretty good and kind of remind me of the old huck towels we used.
They are only about $3 for a couple so it wouldn't be expensive to try them.

:wow:I have never had a problem with MF towels looks clean and streak free to me.
Maybe I need a more powerful bifocal.:idea

Maybe not a stronger one, just move your head up and down and get the right part of the lens on the subject matter. :D

Funny how I just snuck those very Wal-Mart towels outside to do the windows on my van. The good news is, I can put them back and wifey doesn't notice! I'd buy my own but then she'd take them anyway. Share and share alike.

I've used them from the start of my detailing career. I've tried every other towel out ther but continue to use the huck towels. I only use them on glass, sometimes on wheels when they get really worn and extremely soft.

So in short, they kick ass for glass, use them.

I've been using huck towels now for over 5 years and love them. All my customers love how there windows look and they never find any streaks. When your customers comment about their windows and that there is never any streaks means your doing something right so don't change.

OK I finally got some huck towels and tried them out. I have to admit the first thing that I found is they are extremely absorbent, and work like a charm. I haven't seen my windows look this clean, meaning streak free in a while, and they make short order of the work.

the price was $1.35 each so they are way affordable, I think this will now become my go to for window cleaning

nothing cleans glass- including your glasses/ plastic or real glass better than newspaper. I always use old newspaper and it works great and it's FREE laying around after people read the current edition and leave it laying around. Just my two cents.

Welcome to DC Trakpak! Yeah newsprint is an "old school" solution for glass cleaning/polishing. Just too messy for me. As for cleaning your glasses, if they are cheap-o gonna throw them away or lose them shortly, I guess that could be an option, though a poor one IMO. But since my lenses are coated and relatively expensive and newsprint contains wood fiber, no way would it come close to mine.

This is one area where the new and improved is not just new, but really improved. Try some, I thing you'll be convinced.

I agree that NP works very well, but!

Its messy to work with, can stain on some surfaces with all the ink. The cost of a towel advertised over the years that you can keep it will out way the cost of buying NP by considerable margins.

With the advent of microfiber towels - especially glass specific towels - I find that newspapers hit the trash bin. If only they'd make an acrylic paint sealant specifically formulated for glass that had to be applied in a very prescribed manner that would guarantee one year of cleanliness.....

I'm feeling a theme here:rofl
