just got some ht-120 bahama mama carnuba creme wax. looking for anyones experences with it, by pc, by hand, wowo, let it cure? i'll probibly do a test panel by hand first and see how it works and how long it'll last.

I acquired some but when I read the instructions, I was initially confused. It was marketed as a wax, but the instructions indicated it was a swirl remover. I called Hi-Temp and discussed the product with them. They indicated that there were very light abrasives in the product that would not 'kick in' unless used with a polishing pad. By hand, or, if used with a foam pad, the product behaves as a LSP. I used a bit of it on a test panel and this is precisely the case. I have not used it on an entire car as of yet however. Hope this helps.

i hope it doesn't have abrasives. i'll send hi-temp and email checking to see what they say. i ordered it from top of the line and their description didn't say anything about it haveing abrasives in it. that's why i got that product i want to use it as a lsp over my sealnt.

I ordered mine under the same impression. The description said nothing about abrasives or swirl removal; but, the back of my gallon bottle of HT-120 specifically talks to swirl removal along with instructions. This is what led me to call them. Does your bottle have these instructions?

i've got the 16oz bottle and it doesn't mention anything about abrasives or swirl removal. the application instructions for a random orbital is to use a terry cloth bonnet. that would lead me to believe it doesn't have abrasives. i tried to email them but there was a problem and it was returned. try again tomorrow. i'll be pretty ticked off if it does. on the tol website this was the only hi-temp carnuba product that didn't state having abrasives. thought i was buying the right one.

I recently ordered about 6 Hi-Temp polishes and compounds - every single one had about the same wording, I had to look at the descriptions on TOL to get a better clue. I think their reasoning behind "swirl removal" is that any wax/sealant that is applied with a buffer has "some" swirl removing ability just from the friction of the pad. Just my opinion.

Haven't tried it yet (got it in a trade a while ago...)but my 32 oz. bottle also doesn't mention anything about swirl removal. (Does give instructions for rotary, DA, "Cyclo," and hand application, though. Pretty thorough!)

My guess is that they are deleting the reference to the swirl removal. When I felt the product, I could not detect any trace of abrasive. It is not my intent to use a polising pad. I will use it as they suggested by hand, as I did, or at the very most, by foam pad.

how much have you used this product? what's your mileage on it? i did a test fender today for fun, went on and off easy, seemed to darken the black and shine good. i'm just going to use it as an everyonce in a while topper on the sealant on my own car. the price attracted me the most. i know everyone will say much better wax out there but i've never use the more expensive wax, and sometimes think i could tell the difference. although i'd love to try some souvern, cg 50/50, or even swissvax. i've seen some videos of the sheeting action, that kicks azz!! do you have any experience to compare the high end stuff to bahama mama?

I will be using it this weekend and will let you know. From my test panel, it looks and feels great. With respect to the more boutique waxes, I have SovII, Natty's Red and DP Wax Max as well as Megs #26 to name a few. I like using them all. This wax holds its own. What I have discovered is that the 'boutique waxes' are beauty waxes. They shine more with more depth. I bought the HT-120 to supplement my aresenal to keep the beauty waxes for just that purpose. The price was right and the products works fine. I posted my findings with the label because it took me by surprise and I wanted to advise.
