how/when to remove old polish

I've just got my car back from service, and as they do these days, wash the car and 'detail' it with some 'no-brand' polish.

All I found out was that it was a silicon-based polish called Automagic Silkwax. I have no idea what it is, it's made by an outfit in Australia.

Before this, I had BFII on it and it was excellent, I now want to put a layer of P21S Wax on, but I want to know if I should strip the existing polish off - reapply BFII, then add the S100, or should I just put P21S on and see how it goes?

If I should strip the Silkwax off, what's the best way to do it? Dawn/detergent?

Is this what you're referring to?

Just like any polymer, I think it can be easily removed using a water based alkaline cleaner like APC+, I honestly don't believe in the dishwashing soap hype, if the polymer is fresh enough, i don't believe dishwashing soap is harsh enough to remove it in one go.

The packaging doesn't resemble the bottle I saw, but it could be.

Do you think I should remove it before putting on the P21S wax or just do the wax and then strip the old polish in a few months time?

The paint is in very clean and in good condition.

If it was me, I'll leave the polymer on... unless there's a reason for you to remove the existing polymer polish, I don't see why you can't just layer S100 over... :)
