How to seal new Mercedes White Diamond paint?

I will soon be taking delivery of new ML350 in something called "White Diamond" paint. I've heard it is five layers of special German paint. In the showroom the cars they had in this color where absolutely beautiful. Of course I want to seal it as soon as possible. For quite some time now I have been experimenting using Klasse, Jeff Werkstatt, Poorboys, Menzerna and Duragloss products, all with great success on my silver Honda Ridgeline (crappy paint!) and I'm wondering if the same procedures will work with this much better Mercedes paint. I have pretty much decided on going with Duragloss, however, I intend to clay with Griots clay bar because I understand it is mild and the best thing for new paint. My concern is hurting this finish by claying. I may skip this step if I see and feel nothing on the surface but chances are it will have rail dust or some contaminants from the shipping. If that is the case I think I have to get them out with clay.

After claying, if claying is necessary at all, I will use Duragloss 601 bonding agent followed by 105 Polish/Sealant. The next day I will put another coat of 105, let it cure and on the third day a topper of AquaWax 951. Basically, the same procedure as I always perform whenever I use Duragloss products - and that is what concerns me. I just can't help but think I need to do something different or special because this paint is suppose to be special. Does anyone have thoughts on this? Should I even clay at all on this brand new paint or go right to the 601/105?

After washing, you can take a thin plastic baggie and rub it over the paint. If it feels rough, then clay it. Personally I would clay it anyway. Your duragloss process should be fine.

I took a look at the reviews of 111 and they are favorable, so are the reviews of 105. A couple of things stand out about the 111, first, you get half the size product at nearly the same price as 105 (is it twice as good as 105?). Also, it has a rating of six months protection while 105 show one year of protection. I seal every six months anyway so that is not a factor but it would appear 105 is not only cheaper but has better protection. The 105 also has a cleaner included with the polish, something that 111 apparently does not have as they recommend a pre-wax treatment prior to applying 111. As far as gloss is concerned, which I assume is 111's forte, I believe I could achieve the difference with continuous use of the AquaWax topper after every wash. I do that with my current ride and AquaWax makes a big difference, nearly as good as the old Menzerna High Gloss Acrylic Shield topper. If I'm missing anything please let me know. This is not to say I won't try 111 the next time I order, I probably will since I experiment with everything. I have the bonding agent and a little of 105 left so I probably will use it up when the car arrives. Six months from now I may very well try the 111.

Most cars pick up rail dust and other contaminants during transport so I always clay a new car. When applying the 601/105 there is a short cut that works well and Jerry at DG has given it his blessing so to speak: mix one part 601 with 4 parts 105 before application--you can then apply your second coat in a couple of hours. You might want to try a coat of POXY over the 105--I tried it a couple of months ago and the look was great.

Thanks. That shortcut is very good to know and the POXY tip too. Got to try it!
