how to keep my fresh cleaned canvas roof, clean and protected ?

Hi all...

I'm in the process of cleaning the vinyl/canvas roof of my '79 Bill Blass Lincoln Mark V.

I'm not sure the roof is vinyl , I think it's canvas...

anyway...



The roof is coming up beautifully after scrubbing with a brush.

But how do I keep this roof from getting dirty again and how do I get it to 'bead' and resistant to water ?





ps I wanted to upload a picture of the job in progress but upload failed all the time
 
Did some digging in the 1979 dealer ordering guide and I just learned the carriage roof on the car is not canvas, but

white diamond grain vinyl ! (sorry about the mixup)
