How to KAIO for rubber trim

I have a 1999 Ford Pickup. There is smooth rubber trim around all the glass. This rubber seems to bleed black. I haven't treated it in the past, but would like to do something with it.

How do I clean it so that it no longer bleeds? I tried scrubbing it while washing the truck last time, but it seems to "never" get clean and stop bleeding. The rubber is smooth and looks to be in good condition.

I have read where ppl recommend using KAIO for such cleaning. Is this a good product to use. If so, how would you go about using it. If I put some on a MF as soon as i wipe it on the trim the MF turns black and that part of the MF is useless until it is cleaned.

So how would you use KAIO for such a task?

I usually just keep at it. Since it hasn't been done before, it could take some elbow grease. The good news is that if you get it nice now and stay on top of it it will be easy to keep nice.

try scrubbing the trim with a soft/meduim brush and some apc , i find it takes some of the bleeding away

almost like the top layer is oxidised and will come away with some agitation

Yes, try some APC during washing next time. If it's smooth/shiny trim, be careful with the scrubbing so you don't change the appearance (be gentle).

KAIO is great for paint, fiberglass, hard plastic, chrome, glass, etc. or any non-porous material. I've not used it for rubber ..... is that OK?

You have to be a little careful. It generally won't lead to staining issues, but it *can* abrade the surface of the rubber just enough to alter its texture/appearance.

I had some [whatever it was] on the Jag's front bumper rubber strip...*nothing* would get it off so I finally used KAIO. It did the trick but it also lightly marred the rubber. Not bad, but not fixable either.

For rubber window surrounds (the same Jag has ones that are just awful with regard to black-stuff transfer, been like that since new) you might try VM. I like using it for that purpose on that car.
