how to fix clearcoat pilling

hey guys how do i fix this i dont have a pic but its like you can see the clear peeling off like a line do i need to wet sand then buff? please help thanks
 
hey jared i saw pics from what you shared i believe it was a fire bird it had a smillar problem that im taking about i dont think he painted it the 91 hours of restoring that car thanks
 
The clear had been re-shot on that car. IIRC, it wasn't peeling like you're describing. From what I picture in my mind based on your description, the clear is de-laminating from the base coat, in which case you're not gonna fix it. If you could get a picture or two it might help us (i.e. someone who knows more than I do) diagnose for you.
 
Stuff like this is not something you can fix.

When the clearcoat separates from the color coat, you are done. The only choice is to sand it all off and repaint. When the clearcoat goes cloudy then that is the first sign. Then it gets bubbly and starts to open up. You can sand back the clear from where it is peeling to where it is still bonded and slow the spread, but you still basically have a repaint on your hands.
