How to detail your.....driveway?

Hey, gang.

I haven't been around much lately...between my real job, detailing and buying a house...I've barely had time to do anything.

Quick question...I'm moving out of my current place, and my car has leaked oil on the driveway...some of the spots are recent and other are quite a bit older. What can I use to either remove the spots completely or at least partially remove the stains. I was thinking Megs Super Degreaser, but if you guys know something that would be better, I'm all ears.

Thanks in advance.

I have had very good luck with carburetor cleaner. I get the Walmart store brand(Super Tech) which is dirt cheap. I spray, let it work for about thirty seconds, scrub with a brush, and wipe it up with a rag. Not sure if this is eco-friendly but it works for me.

Go with a solvent like carb cleaner or even a good strong APC used full stregth no dilution with water and let it sit on the stain for a few mins than powerwash the stain away and most if not all of the stain will be gone.

Is it black top or concrete? If it concrete, use some kitty litter and a block of wood.Poor the litter over the spill, and rub the wood over it until it is gone or a lot better.Black top I would just try a degreaser. Good luck with the new house, It can be a pain, butt I think well worth it. Joe

If its concrete after you remove all the oil cover the spots with a pinch of Portland cement. This works like magic to hide oil spots.

kitty litter-you need to grind it into the surface and leave it there-it will absorb the oil out of the surface so let it sit. You may have to do it a few times-using some wood and crushing it into the surface with your shoes is a good idea.

I've always used regular gasoline (not for asphalt). I just pour a little on the spot, let it sit for 30sec. then wipe it up with a rag. But, lot's of other products work. I've found Mean Green to work well, also carb cleaner, oven cleaner, ultra dawn, WD-40, pick your poison!

If it's asphalt any degreaser will work just pour it on, brush and powerwash.

If it's concrete do the kitty litter method. Just save that piece of wood for your fireplace. Instead just bring your car over to the pile and do a "burnout" on top of the pile. Saves on the elbow grease and makes the task a little more fun.

Thanks, buddy. I'm still lurking around...During the winter months, detailing really slows down for me.

Hope all is well with you.
