How to detail smaller panels?

Hi guys, I have one question about using the buffer. How do I use a buffer on panels such as the sideskirt, or the hatch of a 350z, such as the picture below where there are emblems everywhere? Besides, the 6.5" is too big for the area. Is it ok to not go in the up down side to side motion, but instead, just go side to side?

Your going to have to get a smaller backing plate and drop to 4 inch pads if you want to hit those areas.

M105 is your friend for these parts. Thats how I do it under spoilers and stuff
