How to correctly use the PC?

I'm been looking for posts on how the PC should be used but came up with nothing. So I'm looking for some suggestions.

I tried using it last night on one half of my car's front hood. I tried the 3M SMR with the white foam pad that came with the PC. I applied a thin line of SMR around the edge of the pad. I started out on speed 2. I turned it on and starting moving back and forth on a 2' x 2' section, pushing down on the PC with a medium amound of pressure. I went over each "row"at that speed about 3 times before increasing the speed to ~3.5. I went over each row at that speed about 3 more times. I then increased the speed to ~5 and went over each row 2 times. Then I turned it up to 6 and went over each row 2 more times. By then the SMR was able to be buffed off with a towel.

Is this the correct way to be using the SMR with the PC? The swirls that I had weren't removed. Should I move to FI2? Should I change pads and try again?

David, I've got a PC on order and the video is very helpful, thanks a lot! :xyxthumbs

Are there any more of those videos on different subjects or is that the only one?

Thanks for all the contributions you make to this board! :bow

redboxster,

I have plans this summer (of course, I've been saying this for months) to do a complete video series. I did the video short on the PC to see how easy/hard it was going to be to do it.

Now that I have finally moved into a home with an okay garage, I can setup a studio. To do it right, you really need a good sound system (not the mic on the camera), video lighting, and a blue background to reduce video bandwidth requirements. Once I get those things set up, I can really start cranking out the videos.

Stay tuned!

Meguiars also has a video (I have one somewhere). I don't know if it is for sale, or if they would be willing to send you one, but you might check it out.

Nevermind, it looks like I can download the files to my machine.

David,

I can't access the links. My windows media viewer comes up then I get an error that I can't access the files or the file path is invalid. Do I need special access?
