How to buff wheel surface scratches?

Hi guys

Just bought a used M3 convert and the previous owner mustn't have known what he was doing when washing the car, and the wheels are full of surface scratches - not to mention yellow'd wheel caps from the acid (which luckily are an easy replacement)

The wheel finish is clear coat over polished metal, so you can really see the individual scratches up close, and from afar the wheels look murky

Ive budget'd to get the wheels re-polished and re-cleared, but is there anything i can try on them first myself. Id imagine its similar to buffing scratches out of the paint, but what products and tools do u use on wheels?

since they are clear coated

do them the same as the paint

same products, same procedure

good luck

Simple enough. You will probably have to hand polish it thats the only difference and it will also help to jack up your Bimmer and take them all off, since it will take a long time by hand and by taking them off it will only help.
