Just out of curiosity, if you could pay for an annual membership to have free shipping (I realize it wouldn't exactly be free b/c you paid a membership for it, but ignore the technicality) on all your orders in 2013, how much would you be willing to pay?

In the poll, click the MAXIMUM amount you would be willing to pay for this benefit. Shipping is expensive so be reasonable :)

Also, let's assume that any discount like 15% off or anything would still be applicable to your order.

Depends. Is another part of the assumption that the periodic free shipping promotions go away?

Almost certainly I wouldn't be willing to pay at all.

It depends on how much your going to spent during the year to get in this. if your a business and need alot of supplies then it's a great why to save.

I should've had that as an option. Todd if you read this, I can't seem to edit the poll. Can you add "Would not pay for a membership" as a poll option please?

Mike, I would think that the free shipping promotions would still be there. Often times I would want to buy just one product on sale and not others so this would help people like me buy small orders like 1 to 2 items per order and not have to worry about shipping being as expensive as the products themselves.

I am a fan of flat rate for low dollar orders but realize there is a difference between an order of 6 buffing pads and 2 gallons of some product when it comes to shipping cost. Both orders may be $60 but the weight difference is much different.

Well, I sorta don't pay for shipping now.

Orders I place here and over on Autogeek are always over $100 so with that in mind shipping for the most part is free anyway....so I guess my answer is $0.00...

As a non-pro, nothing. I would just wait for a promotion. If it was my business I might pay something but then again most orders would probably be big enough to qualify for free shipping as Bobby suggested.

I'm with Bobby and Dhaval. I have never paid for shipping from PBMG. Pretty sure I wouldn't place an order if I had to. Just sayin'.

Plan ahead. Buy everything you could possibly ever need when there is free shipping (and maybe 10-20% off).

I would sign up for something similar like amazon prime but like some have said here, I usually wait for a good promo and stock up. I'm no pro detailer so my supplies last me a long time. Only reason I'd sign up for free shipping is in the event a particular item goes on sale and I want to try it out.

Like others, I am not sure I would pay a yearly membership just to get free shipping. I don't buy enough in a year to pay a large membership fee.

The only way I could see a membership working is if for your membership fee you got discount on products and shipping. I know there is another company using this setup and it sounds like it is working for them.

I order way too seldom to go for something like that but I must admit........I wonder how it is that so many sites can ship large and heavy packages for $4.95 flat. That's even when they beat everyone else's price. I'm not talking of detailing items necessarily just in general. Yes, it is built into the item price but when they best everyone else and still ship for $4.95 it's gotta make you wonder how that works. I just ordered 16 ounces of products and shipping was just shy of $12.00. Ya just gotta scratch your head and wonder about the rates sometimes, eh?

Totally agree, and everyweek I see this topic pop up on AG, I have just come to peace with it and place a order when I have$95.00.

I have talked to one store owner that use to do $50 free shipping, it's great for us as consumers but a bad business decision in the long run. And in the end they can drive him/herself out of business, which can create a monopolistic activities by others; and we the people end up paying more.

Maybe that was extreme:lmfao

Same as the others, I try to place larger orders so I dont pay shipping. I order from other places that shipping is much more reasonable when I need a few items.

i would pay for an annual membership that had different benefits. perhaps reduced shipping rates, special promotions, product samples, etc. i'm not sure how a company could work out free shipping without charging a significant fee for that service.

usually the only time i order is when there is a free shipping option, so i would likely make a few more orders if i didn't have to worry about shipping.

I would also be in the category that I would not pay for a membership. I say that because I only detail my own car and what I bought over the shipments during the holidays I got the free shipping that stuff will last a long time. Longer than I would need a membership for. I may order once through the summer if I am lucky now and probably wait for the super deals over the holidays.

If I were a detailer and had a business where I was ordering a couple times a month then I would probably be in the first category.

I tried the Amazon Prime thing during a free trial period and I really liked it. The main thing I was going to stick with it was that I could watch a majority of movies for free with that membership. The other great thing is order something that was Prime eligible and it was on my door step in 3 days. For movies I switched to Netflix and second reason I didn't stay with Prime is even though there seems to be a lot of products the was Prime available it seemed like some of the things I wanted and needed were not. These days I order and get the super saver shipping if I don't need it right away. JMO.
