This is not on general detaili prices. What I mean is claying, wax, fabric protection etc.

I'm thinking of charging:

$20.00 for claying

wax would be an additional $25.00

fabric protection $25.00

what do you guys think?

I charge $20 per hour for claying. You never know how long its going to take.

I charge $20 per coat of SG when I do additional layers. I've never charged extra for wax though. Most of the people I do don't ask for more than one coat anyway.

Fabric protection is something I only charge like $5 bucks for because it rarely comes up. I've offered it a few times and the interest just isn't there so I don't worry too much about it.

thanks for your reply.

I was wondering how do you deal with the curing time for SG? I mean do you just go back the next day or is the curing time over rated?

As far as wax is concerned, I plan on upselling a wax package to regular customers. For example after 4-8 washes, If the car needs it, I will telll the customers that their car needs another coat of wax. Which will cost an extra 25.00 on top of the wash.

The customers I have sold on SG are weekly or bi-weekly customers. They usually just pay to have an extra layer of SG put on when I come back to do the wash. Sometimes, if they want to pay in advance, I'll do some special deal for them that includes X number of washes with their coats of SG. It works out well. I don't want to rip them off by applying it before it has had time to cure. There really is a difference in waiting. There is a difference in ease of application and a difference in appearance. You may have to experience it to know what I'm talking about. Its worth it to me to wait for the 24 hours though.

I have basic wash prices and wash with wax prices. They just choose between the two. I do my upselling on the sealants. It works either way though. The cost of a wax is usually about $20 over the cost of just the wash on my price sheet. I've figured out an hourly rate that I'd like to be making while I'm working and I've based my prices on the amount of time it takes me to perform different tasks. Adding a coat of wax isn't going to take more than 30 minutes for me so the price difference is about half what I expect to make in an hour. It motivates me to do the job as quickly as I can. I still want to do a good job though so I don't set my prices to rush me. Its an average.

I am just a weekend warrior and I include claying in 3 out of 4 of my packages. I feel most people do not understand claying and I know if I clay the car it will be much cleaner and the wax will hold up alot longer. It usauly only takes about a 1/2 hour any ways. :nixweiss

I like Jngrbrdman idea with the wash and second coat of SG. :xyxthumbs
