How much extra to clay bar?

I'm not too sure I have a rough Idea but trying to see how much you guys would add on to a price for claybar. On a Regular size car, say a Nissan Altima.

I only charge about $10, but it doesn't take me much time at all to clay. The area I live in won't pay a ton of money for a detail either, so my prices are kinda low.

For that size of vehicle I charge $35 for a wash and vac.

...I had to fix the clay bar price. I didn't remember exactly what it was and I was a bit off.

I charge $10-$15 with a polish, depending on the amount of tar. Without a polish it is $20 ($25-$30 for a Black car). I charge $35 for a new finish wash & clay.

25 -50 depending if they are getting any other extras.......size and condition of vehicle matters also..

I just clay anyways because I know my work will look better and it will only take about 15-25 mins max

Ditto. I clay on a full detail. If I am doing a wash and vac...I won't.
Most people have no clue to what claying is around here.

Until I found detailing webpages in 2002 I had no idea about clay either.

I just feel like poo working on a contaminated surface. Even when I do my moms Tahoe which I know she will never touch the surface and has it washed at a Mistercar wash weekly, I still clay and remove the swirls twice a year.

$20 is my going rate for clay bar work too. Typically it doesn't take more than 30 - 45 minutes to clay a car, so $20 is fair considering there isn't much product used up on it.

What type of clay do you use and do you use any chemicals with the clay or just water. I use Auto Magic Clay with Body Shine

I use Four Star or Clay Magic clay. I used a bar of Wolfgang this week, but it was really crumbly. Maybe I just got a bad bar or something.... It really wasn't what I wanted at all. I probably won't be getting another Wolfgang bar just based on this experience. I don't have any reason to switch from Four Star or Clay Magic.

As far as lube goes I just mix some Eagle One Bucketless Wash with water and use that. No sense in spending money on lube when soapy water does the exact same thing.

You must have gotten a really bad bar. Mine is full of elasticity and is by far the best clay bar I've ever used. I can understand you being upset with that experience, but I wouldn't give up on them completely.

Well, I figure since there are only two types of clay anyway and Wolfgang is supposed to be the same stuff as the clay I normally use, I'll just chalk it up to getting a bad bar and leave it at that. I was just curious to know if it really was the same clay. Dwayne confirmed that I probably just got a bad bar, so I'll just leave it at that.

BTW...shortd81, check your PMs.

There is a gas station near me that charges $45 for a clay magic clay job... I did an interior detail for a lady my moms friends with... She got a detail at the same place a month ago, and the detail package she paid for says they clay the cars and the paint was very rough! I wanted to say something about it, but there is not reason to upset a client.
