How much difference between SSR 2.5 & 3

I'm doing a red 92 Mustang that seems to be mostly original paint. I'm using SSR 2.5 with an orange pad for the swirls, & they're pretty stubborn. Just wondering how much different 3.0 would be?

big jump ... first question would be ...what kind of machine are you using

I'm using my PC 7336 set between 5 & 6.

the PC can sometimes work with the SSR3 but it does work better with a rotary or Flex.

Getting back to your swirls, sometimes a more powerful machine is the answer vs more aggressive product/pad:hmmm:

SSR 3 is abrasive enough to remove paint down to the primer and beyond. (by hand!)

This is after multiple applications, mind you.

Well, here's the finished product. This is after clay, SSR2.5, Pro Polish, Black Hole, EX, & 1 coat of Natty's Red. He's picking it up tomorrow, so I'll throw another coat of Red on before he gets here. Lot of work, but I'm happy with it. I might try some SSR3 sometime. I've never used a high speed buffer before, & won't try it until I get some training.

By the way, this car is nasty! It's a VERY built 351 running on a combination if Sunoco 93 & CAM2 110 octane racing gas. I put it in the garage the other night & didn't let it air out enough. The smoke alarms in my house went off from the exhaust! (Wife wasn't very happy)

Man, that looks great! I have a soft spot in my heart for that car. My first car was a black 92 Mustang GT. Can't wait to get back in to another one. Nice work!

I'm somewhat prejudiced since I own 2 Fox Mustangs but you did a great job on that one, looks very nice. :rockon

What did you use on the moldings around the quarter windows and the rest of the black trim?

Thanx, & I used Poorboy's Trim Restorer on all the trim.

Man does that car look good. Very, very nice job on the detail!

Thanx! I'm really happy with the way it turned out. The owner was too. He's got a dark red '08 Roush TrakPak that I want to get my hands on.
