Detail time!
How many pads does everyone have? I am curious to see how many of each cut people have on hand when they detail. It doesn't matter if you detail full time or just as a hobby, how many pads do you have? You don't have to list the manufacturer, size, or machine used with but that info would be useful. You can use the format that I used below to make it easier to read if you like- and a picture or two would be great too. :thanks

Manufacturer: Lake Country 7.5" Variable Contact
Wool: 0
Cutting: 2
Light Cut: 5
Polishing: 8
Finishing: 3

The number of pads I have are really just because of using different pads for different products. Being a hobby detailer, I don't use them enough to really warrant having so many.
Polishing pads - 6
Finishing pads - 5
At one time, I thought I was going to use finishing pads to apply the LSP a lot more than I do or I wouldn't have purchased so many. It is very seldom that I use a finishing pad for any purpose. Application of my LSP is almost always done by hand.
Polishing pads get used with lots of products and I will sometimes use as many as 3 on one vehicle. It obviously will depend on the condition of the paint.
1 pad - PB's SSR2.5 or Meg's #83
1 pad - PB's SSR2 or Meg's #80
1 pad - PB's SSR1, Klasse AIO or Meg's #82

As far as keeping up with my own vehicles, one polishing pad is all I usually need. Meg's #80 seems to clean things up and leaves the paint ready for my LSP. I might need to work a few more heavily marred areas with the SSR 2.5 or Meg's #83. Once I have done my swirl/marring removal, the rest of my process is all done by hand.

I detail full time and i recently started using foam pads so.

6 large wool pads
8 large foam pads
10 smaller foam pads

I use Edge 2K pads and have six 6" pads and one 4" pad. Most of the pads are polishing and light cut, but I have medium and heavy cut as well.

Dozens, many of them not in use right now. I made the jump to Edge's product and all of my LC and Meguiar's pads sit dormant right now. I'm hoping my son catches the fever and his collection is ready made.

This question prompted me to go count. Nine for the PC and 10 pair for the Cyclo. PC pads are Lake Country, Cyclo pads are Cyclo brand. Also have various carpet/upholstery brushes for both.

I am sure that I have over 60 LC pads. I have six of every color and double that of yellow and orange. Most are 7.5 inch pads biut I do have six inch and 6.5 pads as well. These are just the LC pads. I have a lot of Propel 2 pads as well. Not sure how many though.

I know that I can do a detail and never run out of pads to do the job.

I have a lot of the 7.5" VC pads too :bigups

I think I have about 15 pads. I have five Edge 2K 6" flat pads (one in each color), five Edge 2K 6" wave pads (one in each color), four Edge 2K 4" pads (white, yellow, orange, green), and one Wolfgang 5.5" low profile orange pad.

I have no idea why I still have that Wolfgang pad. I think I kept it around for glass polishing.

LC 7.5" VC
2 Orange
3 Black
4 White

I hope to get some more for all different products :excited: having a hard time getting some products off. What do some of you guys use to clean them? Or your different meathods of doing so???

Went home and looked make that 5 white pads:notme:
Nobody on how to clean them??? I looked up the washing machine trick. Dare I ask could you clean your pads with your MF???

I think you risk the chance of having polish or wax residue in your MF's. I use car wash shampoo with a gentle nylon bristle brush to clean my pads in the sink.
