How many of you are this crazy?

I would like to see just how swirl free this guy can get a car. It is insanely difficult to get 100% of the swirls out. A speck of dust between a micro fiber towel and the clearcoat can make a tiny swirl.

No doubt the guy is great and obviously knowlegable when it comes to detailing. I find it hard to pinpoint a single person to be the best detailer in the world. That is the attitude of many dealership detailers thinking they are the greatest. I do believe I am good but know better than to think I am the best.

Here is a thread I saw earlier today about this guy

Great respect to all of the Autotopians. I have learned from and also look up to them.

I didnt like the way he washed the whole car THEN cleaned the wheels last. It seems backward to me. I prefer to clean the wheels and tires first so I dont splash any of that junk up on the paint while rinsing. Then I can take my time drying as well and not worry about more water rinsing later.

He looked to be applying substantial pressure with his hands while waxing. I'd be worried about any dust on the vehicle, since obviously there is no nap in your skin. The dust would have nowhere to go but into the paint.

I think many people here are every bit as "extreme" as that guy when it comes to detailing their own vehicles.

For GBP 5,000, I would think at least a two-bucket wash is in order. He *did not* rinse his wash media after wiping down that one panel and moving to the next! In fact, I don't think I saw a second bucket.

Also, the price of certain items seemed to be mentioned a lot. As we all know, higher price does not necessarily equate to higher quality or value (see Zymol or above).

With exception to his "compound", and clay(despite what he caled it, it had the sonus label), every product he was using was a zymol product.

I think he's definately carved out a niche for himself using the same type of technique zymol has; it costs a hell of a lot of money so it must be good, right?
