How many of each pad should I purchase?

Hey all,

I've decided to purchase either the full Excel pad kit or the Sonus DAS pad kit and was just wondering how many of each pad I should have if I plan to do my entire car. It is a good sized coupe (Infiniti G35).

I plan on using SSR 2.5, FPII, and then a few coats of Zaino. I will not be using a glaze or cleaner step between FPII and Zaino.

Should I have two of each pad or just two polishing and finishing pads? I am only trying to get rid of minor swirls, spider webbing, and a few isolated medium scratches.

For the Excel pad kit, there are two different light polishing pads (blue and green), should i get two of each or just two of the green?

This will be my first time using the PC. Thanks everyone!

I have 3 orange, 2 yellow, 3 green, and 2 blue. IMO, I have just the right number of each. I would have gotten a pair of gray ones too, but I already had a couple Meg's finishing pads.

I have 1 yellow, 2 orange, 3 greens, and 1 blue. I would like to have a couple of gray too but I'm broke!

No matter what product we're speaking of, its nice to always have two of what you use the most of. You cut your clay bar in 1/2, in case something happens to the bar your using. I always have a couple few different polishes, in case the one im using , doesnt give me everything im expecting. Today I ended up using Optimum polish, but needed a little more, so I went to the Blue Moose, and cleaned up with the Optimum.

I guess the moral of the story is always be prepared for the what ifs, in detailing!
